Like dustm said, it is because of the UV damage. If you aren't to worried about the strength then the reason is because the UV will cause the resin to start to turn yellow. There are other ways around this than painting though.

The weaver was out of the 60" 45 degree 9 oz twill, so they are weaving me a batch. They emailed me to see if a narrower fabric was OK, as they wanted to use a smaller machine. I told them 48" and haven't heard back. Not sure when its coming.

On the up side I'm done for the semester and will have more time to build! I was really hoping to have that carbon by now but I have enough other material to get by.
