some people have a different mindset. The athletes that I dislike from our teams or hate on other teams stem from their attitude and demeanor, as well as media spin. For instance I could not stand Beck because he didn't give a rat's ass about our team and had a horrible attitude. I always liked Evans but obviously that doesn't mean I would peg him as one of our top athletes. To be fair he would have been seen in a different light with a better supporting cast.

If Hodge had been on any team but NC State I would have hated him, but he was entertaining and enjoyable. We lack the leadership now that he brought at the time.

Gonna have to disagree with that one.

Beck was probably worse, but he didn't get near as much time as Stone. Stone was so inaccurate that his passes didn't even get close enough for the defenders to intercept them. As bad as Davis and Evans were...Stone was worse.

That said...I don't see how you can hate him. He swallowed his pride and worked his ass off in playing TE for us.

Stone actually got pretty decent by the end of the 2005-06 season. Led us to a bowl win in Charlotte. He was horribly inaccurate, but always found a way to make a few plays.

Evans started out pretty good in the 2006 season. I don't know what happened after the Wake Forest game that year, but he lost it.

Beck was just horrible, horrible, horrible. You have to at least sort-of care where you throw the ball in Division 1 college football.

Beck just because he didn't give a shit and when he had his moment to shine in the bowl game, he threw INTs and just laughed about it.

Costner for pretty much the same reason. Again, he had a chance to come back this year, shake off the last couple of years, and shine as a senior. But he decided to go to Europe. I know many will say he was a chemistry problem and why would you assume he'd ever be anything but a problem, but if he played like he did as a freshman, he would have been a real asset.

Cliff Crawford was a bitch off the court, and was a lot of players' bitch on the court.

He didn't play, but I hated Herb. I'm glad the heave and weave is gone.

My dad took me to my first NC State game that year. He went to grad school here and we still lived in Raleigh so of course we were Pack fans. I wore a 1992 Duke National Champions t-shirt and a NCSU hat b/c I didn't understand "rivalry". The Wolfpacks lost to, I think, UNCW or UNCG or UNCA. What a shitty fucking team. My dad still says a bball player is "as bad as Lakista" to this day when he's having a terrible game shooting the ball.

We're cool now, but I disliked David Amerson last year more than any football player in our history. Never seen a more talented player take play after play off...would literally run away from ball carriers.

no, no we haven't. Marcus Stone is the worst qb I've ever seen play on a college field. plus he was a dick IRL. plus he gave an interview once when he was trying to make it as a tight end in the NFL saying he didn't think he got a fair shot at playing qb at state. easily my least favorite ncsu football player of all time. I still vividly remember his first td pass... it was a bullet right into the chest of a wide open linebacker.

This is an amazing troll post. The thing is 95% of the country could not name even 3 Tennessee athletes. Some would get Peyton Manning and that would be the end of it.
