figured i should update for those who care.

we've set May 22nd. i talked to the preacher today and he thinks he's free. she needs to decide on a church and a ton of other stuff.

leaving for the NC mountains after the reception and spending 4 nights in this cabin: http://www.carolinamountainvacations.com/CabinRentals/NC_Cabins/SkyCoveHideaway_gallery.php

WOW that is insane! are you stressed?

i mean not insane that you are getting married. i thought planning weddings took a hot minute and/or like a year or 6 months of planning

i mean. i obviously don't know though - i'm not married or engaged

no, i'm not stressed

no, it doesn't take that long. especially not when you're only having 50-75 people there. it'll be a very small wedding. we'll cook a couple pigs afterwards and have the usual pig picking stuff catered (as in someone will go pick it up).

i guess you could spend months planning it if you're slow about making up your mind

[Edited on January 12, 2010 at 10:17 PM. Reason : i don't have to do anything except show up anyway. i wanna elope. she wants the wedding]

yea i'm pretty indecisive and a control freak (shocker) i think i'd need more time. plus the whole indecisive thing...i need to be engaged for like a year just to make sure i 100% want to get married haha

that cabin looks AWESOME. do you need a maid or personal chef to accompany you?! i can recommend someoneeeee heh.

i totally want a pig pickin but for my rehearsal dinner.

^^ truth. the guy doesn't really have to do a lot of work with the planning (usually)

my dad wants me to elope. i've had a few friends that have done it (not secretly) and then had a party for friends/family when they've gotten back. a LOT cheaper (usually unless you're eloping to like, greece or something)

you gotta remember that april will make 5 yrs we've been together and we've known we were gonna get married for probably 2 or 3 years. this isn't new. i just had to figure out where i'd be after college and wait to get a financial buffer so that i could spare the $ring.

i don't see the point of a rehearsal dinner. hopefully we won't have one.

but then again, i don't see the point of the whole ceremony/reception/etc. it all seems wasteful to me.

i am looking forward to the honeymoon

i'm glad we put ours off until september...originally, i thought earlier was better, but the extra time was great for finding the right venue, as well as giving time to find and book a good photographer

^^i want to get it done before i start work in june. we've been together almost 5 years and the past two years i've been in raleigh while she's been in wayne county. i definitely don't wanna be in roxboro while she's still back home. we're tired of being apart.

^i don't think so

It took just two days for my gorgeous dress to come in. I didn't buy one of those fancy dancy expensive designer dresses that take forever to arrive. My dress was in stock with the designer so it was just packed and shipped. I had to wait a week to pick it up b/c of the damn snow.

My two bridesmaids and I are going to davids bridal tonight to look at their dresses. I hate davids bridal but they are both odd shapes so that's about the only place you can try on the dress in your particular size. I'm sure the dresses will come in time.

Tuxes will be done at a later date once we decide what the guys will wear. I do want NRR's opinion on that.

You can have a red flannel pocket square if you'd like, dear.
