i'm guessing mambagrl is hard up on cash because she/he (i don't know and i don't care) is ALWAYS asking people to put up money so she/he can prove that she/he's a she. wow ok that's confusing.

also, i don't know if you live in Raleigh but there are a few pretty good italian places around here. you just have to know where to go. and this is coming from a NJ-born italian.

It is not the cheese.

It is the house dressing.

list the places in raleigh that have that cheese and freshly grate it onto your food. most of the "fine" italian in raleigh like casa carbones have friggin pizza hut style parmasean shakers on the table.

There are easily 100+ better Italian restaurants within a 20 mile radius of me than Olive Garden.

I mean, I don't necessarily MIND Olive Garden. But let's not get crazy and call it a great example of Italian food.

why don't you just take a picture with today's date on a piece of paper next to you? i mean, there are plenty of other ways to prove to everyone you are who you say you are.

i'm sorry but this made me laugh. you basically just said Olive Garden is the end all be all when it comes to Italian restaurants around here. I haven't been to Casalinga in a while or Bella Monica but they're very good Italian restaurants that probably grate the cheese onto your food.

where do you live? then i can better gage the Italian restaurants you have in your area.

LOL at this thread.

It's like saying your favorite pizza place is Pizza Hut.

but it is.....but only because their breadsticks they use cost 13 dollars per stick in the grocery store which is probably why mom and pop restaurants don't use it. those breadsticks are bliss to me and is the only pratically priced place in the US that offers it.

I like the Ragazzis off Glenwood.

Sometimes the food comes out partially frozen, but it's always empty, and they serve these giant, superfried cheese logs.

I have no idea how it stays open. It's suspect.

People. Stop feeding the troll. Your response to this thread should have been a condescending LOL. Force the troll to come up with new material to justify his existence. You are being drawn in by a mastermind of stupid. This lonely hack has put forth the premise that a restaurant is automatically better than all others in it's cuisine because it grates a non-fresh cheese on your food, rather than said non-fresh cheese coming from a shaker. And you are arguing with him. Now, how do you feel? Sort of like challenging a retard to a duel, eh?

Olive Garden isn't authentic, but it is delicious. In the same way that Taco Bell tastes great, but isn't real Mexican. Okay, scratch that.

first of all you don't even understand that "fresh" cheese is nothing special. aged cheese is the best.

2nd of all no restaurant has pecorino romano in a shaker. thats just regular parmesean, which is very cheap and nothing special.

you don't know much about food and discredit the olive garden simply because its an american chain that serves italian food. Just because theres only "1" location of a restaurant, or pure italians run and own it, doesn't mean the food is going to be better. thats just silly reasoning.

now does me saying olive garden is great mean thats its the same thing as eating at a quality establishment in little italy or rome? of course not. good food is not relative to the best.

of course there are better restaurants than olive garden. that doesn't make olive garden shitty. There certainly isn't a better italian restaurant than olive garden in every american city though.

I've been to several restaurants in mia, la, and nyc that are ten times better but they also ran ~50 for a 2 person dinner

[Edited on January 6, 2010 at 7:01 PM. Reason : olive garden is affordable and good not great not expensive=quality]

good place but they dont have the cheese
http://www.frankgrisanti.com/
just parmasean shakers
