When our crowd acts like a true home crowd and not like a neutral game in the same city crowd then we are really tough to beat at home. Tonight was an example of a team playing at home with one of the best atmospheres in college basketball. The atmosphere alone was worth 10 points. Its a shame we can't do this more than 2 games per year. Some schools do this every game (even against shitty teams) and their records show for it. Wisconsin comes to mind.
One thing that really distubrs me is that the university sends the wrong message by handing out baloons for duke and unc game. They are telling the fans "this is the game you want to show up for, other home games don't really matter" they need to do the same thing they do for duke and unc for every game.
If we could have half that atmosphere at tip time of every other game we would be one of the most feared places to play and probably wouldn't lose so many close home games. 1/20/2010 11:55:29 PM |

we start jumping and then along with it go "ooooooooooooo" and get louder like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH" and then switch to "PACK! PACK! PACK! PACK! OOOOOO PACK! PACK! PACK! PACK! OOOOOOOOOOOO! POWER PACK! POWER PACK! BACK THE PACK!" and then play a loud rockin rap song or somethin. i think it would get things crazy. 4/13/2010 1:37:51 PM |
