My favorite thing about this is the sound editing. With the cutting off ends of words. "The best part of waakin' up, is ACID IN YOUR CUUUUU-"

I like science fiction/fantasy story telling but Star Wars was simply a set of stories I could never really get in to. And these video reviews mostly why. The following is so great and yet so rigidly stupid.

Like Avatar, there is nothing great about the Star Wars franchise other than the visual effects being "kinda a big deal" when they were released.

And you can toss those Star Trek idiots in this boat too except they never had a budget that was even close in scale. Star Trek is Star Wars Lite as far as I am concerned. You people with your... AHHHH! I don't even have words for how much I hate you people that so fiercely debate and review tv shows and movies from the fucking 60s and 70s.

You're joking, right?

Say what you want about the prequel trilogies, the first three had solid story structure and compelling character arcs... it's cinematic magic, dude.

As far as Trek goes, watch the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movies. That's a hell of a great story. The rest, to me, is sorta ~, but I'll defend Trek as far as there being some great characters driving the plots and subplots.

for whoever (Sweden?) was asking about whether or not they should watch episodes I-III...

you shouldn't put the three in a a group.

Star Wars III was one of the best episodes out of the entire franchise.

Star Wars I was hands down the worst. i wasn't real impressed with II, take it or leave it.

but you should definitely watch III.

I think III is definitely worth watching, but it's not better than any of the original films.

Order of quality is: V, IV, VI, III, II/I (equally terrible)

III is disqualified because of the choke a bitch-anakin scream combination. Theater busted out laughing at the fucking climax of the movie. That's how you know its bad.

Seriously: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBUsBuLNlvU

How can you not bust out laughing while watching that? It's so fucking bad

I loved this. I also ate pizza rolls like 30 mins before watching. I haven't had pizza rolls in a long time either.

I just watched this entire thing. Fucking hilarious.

It also reminded me both why I enjoy the original trilogy so much and why I hated the prequels (which I haven't watched since they came out in theaters and have no desire to).

^^ how about:

Quote :
"mostly, it's the sith who deal in absolutes; although sometimes some other guys do it, too."

and, vinylbandit's order is right, except III needs to come before VI. VI kind of sucked. i mean, wtf with the teddy bears? lame.

These reviews are so fantastic.

I cant wait until a real director gets the rights to the franchise to make the next trilogy.

^1,2,3 again or 7,8,9?

I also heard once that he started on "A New Hope" because the technology did not exist to tell the story of 1/2/3. This would imply that he was working on their story before 4/5/6 were even composed. If that's the case why the insanely complex story line paired up with stupidly simple characters? Didn't he have WAY more time to think and get it right? Didn't he pull them out of his desk and flip through them every 2-3 years?

1,2,3 were obviously written later.

The Dark Knight is to the Batman series as

The NextDirectorWhoGetsTheRightsToTheFranchise is to Star Wars.

I hope I am alive to see this film.

Give me dark. Give me real Jedi with morality turmoil. Give me something to sink my god damn teeth into.

I'd settle for a full reboot, by a completely different creative group of course.

Just pull a KotOR and have it in an entirely different time line/story arch. I felt that one of the many things that brought down episodes 1, 2, & 3 was that the same 8 people in a galaxy of trillions kept running into each other over and over again. I don't want to see forced appearances by Chewbacca or Boba Fett or any of their kids or cousins. I know they're popular characters and are a quick way to win fan support for a fledgling movie series but that garbage won't be necessary if you actually come up with a compelling story.

you clearly didn't watch those videos, b/c if you had you would realize the problem is that george lucas doesn't know how to write/direct a film.

Same script done by the angry nintendo nerd would have been better but it's still pretty funny.
