Cook for her, and make her favorite desert. Set the atmosphere in your place, and find a nice movie.

redneck logic ftl"

Like wolfpackgrr said, I was referring to the whole package. Furthermore, we only went there because a) it was a last minute decision and b) we are very tight with the hostess and got in within 10 minutes when they had a 4 hour wait. (Which is actually what made us decide to go there.)

assuming things ftl.

Elaine's on Franklin - http://www.elainesonfranklin.com/

Yes, it's in Chapel Hill but the food is AMAZING and the owner is the coolest guy. If you are looking for somewhere very nice and classy, then you really can not go wrong!

I went Evoo last year. It was pretty money. closed down now though

What is moonlight pizza like?

I'm really trying to find a place that'll be good, somewhat swanky, or at least have something "unique" about it even if it isn't especially nice, but has an unusual atmosphere with good food . I'm willing to travel a bit too.

Lilly's but be prepared to wait forever unless you go for an early dinner.

If you're lucky you can get a reservation at The Weathervane at A Southern Season still.

20 month old daughter and no babysitter kind of limits my options. I've cooked on Valentine's Day before, but I'd like to do something a little different than stuffed chicken breast. I've got it in my head to boil some lobsters. Online videos make it look easy, anyone w/ experience in this?

Oh, and I'm planning on doing something w/ the meat instead of handing her a lobster claw and saying "enjoy!". Maybe whole tails though, but claws are a bitch to open at the table.

Mura at North Hills, get the Screaming O.
Bonefish Grill off Harrison, get the bang bang shrimp appetizer and their fish tacos.
Bella Monica, get the chicken parmigiana.

Bella Napoli

seriously the best Italian place I have ever been to (lobster ravioli was awesome). The inside has a nice feel to it too.

That's half the fun of eating lobster

Lobster's easy to cook but don't overcook it or it gets tough as hell

go buy whole live maine lobsters.... break claws off after stabbing a knife through the bottom center to kill it... then cut the tail in half (from underside) then pour cream and maybe some lemon juice around slit... then precrack claws throw in boiling water put tail in oven (on broil) and take out in like 15 minutes

I can't recommend Bella Monica enough. Always loved that place when I lived in Raleigh.

This thread makes me wish I had held out for a guy without a shellfish allergy.

I won't cook wheat stuff for him, he won't cook lobster for me. I keep on telling myself shrimp are high in cholesterol, but it doesn't always work.

Uh, we're going to Case Dining Hall's Valentine's Meal thing. Sure, it isn't as good, but it's free, ahaha.

Then we're buying each other stuff.
