thats for sure, you guys go out on a limb and tell us what you consider basic?"

Excel is so broad that you can't just ask that question. No one refused to answer you, but it really depends on your usage. For engineering at my job, I could easily write up a list of "basic" things that every engineer should know how to do depending on their needs and the type of work they do.

On the other hand my father-in-law is awesome at Excel and Access but he is CPA and utilizes some completely different aspects of the software at times. Some of them are things that I never have to mess with.

When I'm talking about stuff that should be "basic" and referring to my job, I am specifically referring to people I work with and know what they do, so explaining those things to you/making a list for you might not mean a whole lot.

Yea it was pretty funny. I believe it was actually 7th grade thinking back now. The teacher was this ex-marine who was kind of a dick and he was basically accusing me of lying.

BASIC was awesome to start with though because the syntax was so simple. It let me figure out the concepts and logic of programming without getting caught up in complicated syntax.

And dangit, I don't know why I referred back to my own post. I meant to carrot wolfpackgrrr's BASIC picture to say it was awesome. Not my own previous post

Sounds like the asshole that taught my computer science lab at State. That CSC class they make life science majors take. Dude basically accused me of cheating on my final project and giving me a zero because my website had frames
