I find it hard to believe that none of you have ever had an introductory lit class (I was exposed to this in high school when satire was the subject at hand), or that none of you ever took anything related to british history or lit.

Just because some of us didn't read it doesn't mean we never took intro lit, british lit, or british history, or that satire was never a central topic taught to us.

Elements of literature are pretty central to a lit class, and (good god, I'm feeling old here), isn't at least one year of HS english basically a lit class?
