Most of my best gfs have bdays within a week of ours. And my mentor at work has the same bday, but she's 40. She's like a 40-year-old version of me. Very weird. Lauryn Hill also has our bday.

I think people w/the same bday tend to have a lot in common.

Nikes look so cool but Mizunos just fit me so perfectly. I had a pair of Brooks that I loved, but I'm extremely loyal to Mizuno. I've been wearing them for running since I started running marathon distances back in 2005.

I do prefer Nike clothing and tennis gear. Their tennis dresses are so cute!

^^ When I get stressed at work (which is rare, because my job is essentially stress-free), I do one of four things:

1) Go to the gym (we have one at my office) and run a few miles on the treadmill
2) Visit http://starwoodhotels.com/ and plan a vacation
3) Go to the mall
4) Crank up the music and crank out some work

But honestly, it's been about a year-and-a-half since I was super stressed at work. We were having layoffs. I did a LOT of shopping.

work is stressful because things are actually very good here...we're just under-resourced so everyone is having to do double the work. plus, i work with a couple of people who are quite mean. normally it doesn't bother me but i don't appreciate 5 separate nasty emails within an hour from one person.

oh the life of the working world.

1) Through a staffing agency. I had a job as a marketing manager for a smaller hotel management company and I saw an ad for a creative writer with a Fortune 500 company. That was pretty much all the detail in the ad. I submitted my resume and simply said that I could be inclined to leave my company if the money was there. They offered $20k more for me to leave, so I did.

I hate that. Just be safe with your responses. Email can be a dangerous thing. There are so many times where I've wanted to send a nasty reply to a nasty message, but that can be career suicide. Enjoy dinner with your dad and HAVE A GLASS OF VINO!

I understand the challenge of having a lack of resources. We're in a regrowth period right now. After losing 75% of my department, we're suddenly busy again, but we don't have the manpower anymore to keep up w/the work.

haha thanks lucy. oh i'm not even responding at this point. he's blaming me for things that involve other people. i just ignore the emails and made a folder called "____ is a Jerk." Makes me feel better when i just slip the email into there.
