that game was NUTS. i remember it like it was yesterday. philip rivers and woody dantzler combined for an epic epic quarterback show. i think woody took it 65 yards to the house on the first play of the game. i recall clemson wearing purple pants that day, and Clemson won 45-37 or something like that. 7/22/2010 10:21:23 AM |

What's the matter? We ended up being awful last year after talking about winning the division and the BCS all summer... If Austin isn't going to play though, I don't think they have much of a chance (though I can see them beating LSU).

Not really sure where to put this, but how is this kosher for a school to have an agreement with a network? Has this ever been done before? I'm obviously completely oblivious to most of the countries regional networks.
http://www.zagsblog.com/2010/08/05/sny-new-home-of-uconn-football-hoops/
Quote : | "SNY, the television home of the New York Mets, Jets and Big East Conference, in conjunction with The University of Connecticut today announced a comprehensive, multi-year partnership that makes SNY “the official television home of the UConn Huskies football and men’s basketball programs”.
Beginning this September, SNY will annually feature 300 hours of UConn programming — including 120 hours of Huskies game coverage — with unprecedented access to UConn coaches and players. Additionally, SNY will significantly expand its UConn sports coverage throughout its sports news and entertainment programming, including its critically acclaimed SportsNite show — which airs Monday-Sunday at 10pm, 1am and throughout the morning. SNY will also create a UConn Huskies sports section on the network’s website — http://www.SNY.tv — which will feature original content, including video and a dedicated UConn Huskies blog." |
Now, I'm not sure if this happens if UConn is in the ACC, but this means UConn is pretty much THE New York City team... BC is looking like an even more terrible decision.

Well I wouldn't say UConn is now be "THE" NYC team. Again they are on the same station that covers the Mets and Jets. There are more Yankees and Giants fans than Mets and Jets fans in the area. But I'd say right now there are three NYC teams, Syracuse, UConn, and Rutgers to an extent. Everyone pretty much hates Rutgers though b/c it's full of Jersey trash that pay way too much for going to just a state school. If I lived in Jersey there would be no way that I'd pay that much for my kids to go there, when I could spend a similar amount and send them to a better out-of-state public school.
Here's just a comparison of Rutgers and State.
Rutgers Tuition and Fees: $12,560 Room and Board (includes meal plan): $10,906 Total: $23,466
NC State Tuition and Fees: $5,829 Room and Board (includes meal plan): $8,154 Total: $13,983
Seriously why is there a nearly $10k difference for a roughly similar education? I understand everything is higher in the North, but Jersey is actually pretty affordable in comparison to their neighboring states. I live in Philly and gas here is currently around $2.85/gallon. I went to Connecticut this weekend and it was $3.19. Jersey was $2.55. 8/5/2010 3:15:43 PM |

I know I'm not from the NY metro area like NyM410, but I've spent a decent amount of time in the region, and have a ton of friends from the area. Many of whom went to Rutgers, UConn, and Syracuse. I'm just going off my experiences being there and listening to my friends from the area.

I'll never forget the pack making Trev Alberts stick his shoe in his mouth at halftime of that game.
Before the game he talked about how overrated we were an how Clemson was going to prove it on national TV. It was like 28-0 at halftime, he came on the air with Mark May haggling him, then he proceeded to apologize and say "I Believe, I Believe"
Prick.

^ They have redone their seating numbers this year as they have added chair back seats in certain sections & they added the endzone seating so it's different than last time we were playing there. It use to start at A 7 go through Z, then go to Row AA thru ZZ & AAA & so on, but I'm not sur ehow it is done now...maybe this will help...
The scoreboard looks like it's gonna be nice to see us spank their ass again, this time in HD (this pic was from when they first fired it up to test it out...it's still under construction)
