I don't understand how some people leave their convertibles packed with the top down in these conditions. Some people really don't care about their cars at all Hell, I won't even open the windows in this crap right now.

I turn on the ignition and put the climate control on recirculate before starting the car. I've cleaned the interior 2x and washed the car 3x in the last 2 weeks. There was a track event in there, so maybe not a fair comparison. I have the only non green/yellow cars in the neighborhood though...

I'm probably gonna hose the car off tonight before parking it in the garage, but I'm not washing it till the pollen's mostly passed us by. Just a waste of time.

Ahmet, shouldn't the cabin filter block the pollen, negating a need to hit the recirculate button?

Fair point, the charcoal activated cabin filter should work for that, then again that thing's like $75 for the Porsche so I don't want to replace it after two weeks of filtering...

and at the same time, I'm sitting here wondering why you people get so worked up over some pollen in/on your car.

I have no intentions of mating with a tree, and I don't like them forcing their way onto (into? eww) my car either.

OK, but on a serious note;

"NC Pollen reaches a record.

The pollen count in Raleigh reached 3,524 grains per cubic meter; in Winston-Salem it was even higher – 9,632 grains per cubic meter. For comparison, daily averages during the spring in North Carolina are 1,000 to 1,500 grains per cubic meter."

Anyway, I just like my car to be clean, as I do my living quarters. You're welcome to keep yours yellow and dusty.

one week without the top down is worth not having to remove the seats

Think the S2000 seats are a direct swap into the Integra?

Anybody who's ever had a car broken into knows that you'll never get "all of it" out... Windows up for me as well, except on track.

S2000 seats do directly swap into a bunch of other Hondas, I thought that was why people stole them all the time?

^probably. they are stolen all the time

And I hear you on the broken into thing. My Integra was broken into 4 years ago and I still come across tiny glass fragments.

Youre honestly trying to compare broken glass to an air carried pollen particle?

Quinn had to wipe down my passenger seat before getting in because the pollen had taken over the seat.

A little pollen ain't going to stop me from riding topless on my enemies though.

Tempered glass breaks into very fine pieces when broken.

You're free to not be bothered by pollen inside your heater ducts, in your dash, etc. I will keep my windows up and the HVAC on recirculate for 2 weeks.

Not entirely true, I've owned some very clean cars including my Estroil M3, one owner turbo S with 20k miles and my current CPO'd Porsche. This, in fact, is the reason I don't like owning super clean cars, because I care too much about them. Like right now I'm going to put the Porsche in GF's garage since we're expecting strong storms for the evening. At least by tomorrow morning I can go for a run w/out turning into a puff ball from my allergies...

Roadster weeks are hard to come by.

Especially because if you're putting it up to prevent pollen, you're probably not going to drop the top the second it hits 90.

A week here, a week there, and then BAM -- it's winter again.

In the winter if it's sunny and above 45 my top is down. It's been down every day this week. And unless it's above 95 and I'm only puttering through traffic the top is down in the summer
