as a large person, i cant help but think that there is someone else pushing her to do this who is not only attracted to her body, but has a fat fetish, which this lady might share (lets hope). which is fine as long as the children arent being hurt... but people need to stop objectifying their bodies and focus on being being beautiful and healthy at whatever size they are.

The part that sucks is when she dies or cripples the family with medical costs.

My friend's mother was morbidly obese, and despite attempts at medical intervention, she continued eating, drinking, and smoking at pathological rates. Following her premature death, the family fell apart, and outcomes for her children were bad: drug/alcohol addiction that lead to prison for the boy and mental institutions for the girls...the kids clearly shared her addictive personality, but her suicide (a literal death by chocolate) fucked them up even worse.
