GRILLED CHEESE WITH AVOCADO
don't grill the avocado though
make the grilled cheese open face (melt the cheese, grill the bread) and then add the avocado after it is off the heat. mmmmm.
i especially like on pumpernickel. i like avodaco on all my sammiches. sometimes i eat cold avocado and cheese sandwiches. 4/18/2010 10:07:43 PM |

I have an avocado sitting at home right now waiting to be devoured
I'm going to saute some mushrooms, onion, garlic, spinach and egg, put that on some English muffins, then slice some avocado on top. 4/18/2010 10:14:44 PM |

thats what i do most of the time^^
I do like mashing it up and putting it on my sandwhiches. I think i'm going to make an omlet tomorrow and throw some chunks of avocado in there..

Chocolate Avocado Mousse:
1 avocado
8 dates, chopped
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place all ingredients in food processor. Blend– scraping sides when necessary – until smooth. 10/14/2010 10:23:25 PM |

wow, that sounds amazing... must try.
i don't have a food processor, so i would just mix it by hand to as smooth as i can.
(i have access to fresh dates, so blending them in won't be a problem, as opposed to dry dates... have smooth date paste as well) 10/14/2010 10:29:50 PM |

I think you'd have a hard time getting it as smooth as it'd need to be if you were mixing it with your hands. 10/14/2010 10:38:15 PM |

Avocado Ice Cream!
3 small to medium avocados 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice 1 1/2 cups whole milk 1/2 cup honey 1 cup heavy cream
Directions Peel and pit the avocados. Add the avocados, lime juice, milk, and honey to a blender and puree. Transfer the mixture to a medium mixing bowl, add the heavy cream and whisk to combine. Place the mixture into the refrigerator and chill until it reaches 40 degrees F or below, approximately 4 to 6 hours.
Process the mixture in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions. However, this mixture sets up very fast, so count on it taking only 5 to 10 minutes to process. For soft ice cream, serve immediately. If desired, place in freezer for 3 to 4 hours for firmer texture. 11/4/2010 4:03:38 PM |
