Yeahhhhhhhhh, no. Well, maybe... I just have experience with making them at home and it wasn't as easy as it was at my old work.
The way we made them was by using one of these:
then we took two mini-spatulas and ran it underneath the entire circumference then carefully flipped them using both spatulas.. then you start putting all the stuff on the top half of the crepe and fold it into a triangle
[Edited on April 20, 2010 at 3:10 PM. Reason : I've never tried making them in a pan but they were hard on a griddle.. just fyi] 4/20/2010 3:09:52 PM |

haha... just don't make the mix too thin, it honestly helps to have it at a nice balance between thick and thin -- easier to spin out 4/20/2010 3:12:24 PM |

of course, a banana, nutella and bacon (or strawberry) pancake doesn't sound too bad either

oh and if you do make them... sprinkle some sugar on the crepe before you put the ingredients on top
makes it even better 4/20/2010 3:14:54 PM |

I think it would be easier on a pan than a griddle because you can just swirl the whole thing around, and it makes it nice and circular for you. 4/20/2010 3:15:31 PM |

once you make the crepes, you stuff 'em, roll 'em up, and eat 'em...right? you don't try to stuff the crepe while in the pan? 4/20/2010 3:16:23 PM |

are you going to just make egg crepes or are you going to make some sort of batter? 4/20/2010 3:24:42 PM |
Samwise16 All American 12710 Posts user info edit post |
it's easier IMO on the griddle w/ the spinner because that way you control their thickness...
but no, not correct for stuffing them after cooking them :\
once you flip them, you put the ingredients on while the other side is cooking... this helps warm up the other ingredients - especially important for the nutella because it makes it all warm and gooey and yummy
to clarify, for thumper: put all your ingredients on a top section, then once the other side of the crepe is done, fold it in half, then fold it into a triangle... then put it on the plate

^^I haven't gotten that far yet I'm gonna get my work finished and then browse the intarwebz for a good recipe. Feel free to give me something you know works and is fairly easy.
^Seriously? So how do you roll them up in a hot pan/skillet?

I've always seen it where you make the crepes, then fill them after they are cooking. I mean it takes like 20 seconds for them to cook since theyre so thin, thats not much time to fill them, etc. 4/20/2010 3:26:42 PM |

if you want the recipe, I can get it when I get home but that won't be until like 5:30 - 6
you don't have to roll them up, the triangle works really well or you could do a "bowtie" where you fold the crepe in half, take one corner and fold it towards the middle, then take the other corner and fold it towards the middle
^2 depends on how thin your mix is... but that extra time helps the nutella a lot IMO
we always filled them before folding (or rolling)

See that's exactly how I expected to do it. Sam talkin' about griddles and crepe swirly tools and stuff got me all skeered
I also think I'll heat the nutella ever so slightly in the microwave, to make it spread easier.

Hey hey... I spent almost a year using the fancy crepe stuff.. but when I used a griddle at home it turned out 'aight... Just sayin.
And I still highly suggest you put it on while cooking it because the warm gooey banana-nutella-(and maybe strawberry)-ness is yummy 4/20/2010 3:35:21 PM |

We would put the nutella in squeeze bottles so we could make lines faster on the crepe but honestly the stuff isn't so thick where it's not easy enough to just plop on there (like DROD said)... then once it melts it gets really nice
I've never microwaved it though so idk how that would turn out 4/20/2010 3:41:22 PM |

you hold it at an angle.. ladle some crepe mix on the creme maker (aka a big, circular griddle) then you kind of.. sweep the edge over the mix while spinning it (it's hard to describe but easier than it looks). You basically drag the mix around lightly 4/20/2010 4:53:16 PM |

and i gotta say, the saltiness of the bacon and the sweetness of the nutella/banana is a most excellent combo!
and the crepes were wicked easy
PICS
there's 1 slice of bacon, 1 tbsp of Nutella, and 1/3 of a banana (sliced) in that crepe.
