I would always err on the side of caution. If you are pretty sure that dressing up a bit will not hurt you...then I would dress up. It can only help. 4/21/2010 12:43:05 PM |

I'm in District 5, Rocky Mount.
Is Louise the crazy one that can be super mean and drinks tons of Mountain Dew and smokes a lot...or was that Susan Penman? I don't remember which one she was but if you got on the mean one's good side she'd take real good care of you.
Louise works for DENR now because they moved all DFR IT personnel to DENR. 4/21/2010 2:00:05 PM |

hahah, yes that's her to a t. it's definitely true if you get on her bad side, she will make you hate life but otherwise she's great. She had nearly the same personality as one of my neighbors growing up, so I learned how to interact with that type at an early age. 4/21/2010 3:35:07 PM |

then you should dress up...the fact is that even if you don't think it matters, it DOES matter...if every other applicant wears their field uniform and you come in with some nice slacks, button-up shirt, and a tie, they're going to remember and i can guarantee you it won't be negative (unless you have poor fashion sense )4/21/2010 3:50:50 PM |

Well...honestly it doesn't matter what I wear because i'm not getting the job. I knew I wouldn't get the job going into it (a county ranger with 24 yrs of experience applied) but I interviewed anyway.
^^Our uniforms don't look like that. Close, but we have those little straps on the tops of the shoulders and the badges are above the pockets...and we have NCFS badges on the arm instead of USFS. 4/21/2010 4:14:30 PM |
