i had to defriend this one guy from high school who everyday was sending me 5 invites for some stupid stuff going on at his church. for a while i just kept declining but i realized he didnt care and was just mass sending it out to all his friends on fb. i got fed up enough with it and defriended him.

I had my email address viewable to my friends on there. MISTAKE

This one crazy bitch that I barely even knew in high school sent me a friend request, I accepted it like a moron. Then all of a sudden my email is BLOWING UP with messages about events at her church and some church related charity organization she's involved with.

Defriended her and then had to send her an email telling her to stop sending me that shit.

I've got a few I had to hide too due to being overly political and/or overly religious.

i have a cousin who has 8 kids, all homeschooled, fundamentalist christian environment raised, and 5 of them are old enough to have facebook profiles. i generally dont want to be a dick to family so i accept them as friends, but i immediately hide them because they are pretty much the least educated/worst spellers ever.

the only people i have hidden are some persian friends who post news articles non-stop about iran movements and groups

i believe i have nearly every application blocked, and havent seen anything from any application in a long time

my only group/fan pages affiliations are marko's and godspeed you! black emperor. ok hopscotch too, but they're about to get the hide.

i feel like niether of these will ever spam me.

my feed is very sterile and im pretty ok with this.

my friend list seems to go up and down and i dont understand that.. like, if someone defriends me, can they readd me without my knowledge?

That happens because some of your friends are deactivating their Facebook accounts. You don't lose your friends when you deactivate. So when said friends re-activate their accounts, they repopulate in your friend count.
