^i mean that the fact that the mattresses have different names at different places makes the store sketchy to me. i don't trust it, regardless of the type of store.

I just have issues buying something with no guarantee of quality. If I buy something and I'm told it's nice, I don't want to be stuck with it. That's why I bought mine from Costco, but you may be able to find a similar return policy elsewhere.

so... you don't trust Belk, sears, Macy's, etc? They all sell mattresses. they all have the same mattresses, but with different names. Will you not buy a blackberry from verizon because the same phone has a different name through AT&T?

Or is it that you don't trust the companies that make the mattresses? Tempurpedic is the only company I know of off hand that does not practice this naming thing. Their names are the same no matter what store you go to or if you go directly to them. Simmons, Sealy, Serta, etc. have all been around for a long time and still sell a lot of mattresses, even their model names are all different from store to store.

i don't trust the big name manufacturers, regardless of store. to me, if you can't be consistent in naming & spec-ing your product then you're hiding something.

If you have the cash, I would say tempurpedic is a great nights rest. It keeps your spine aligned and if you're feeling any pressure waking up (waking up sore), tempurpedic relieves this. It does get a little warm at night so if you're living in an apartment or house without AC or sweat really bad, I wouldn't recommend this for you.

My wife and I got it, and since then, our new favorite room in the house is the bedroom.

I have a latex bed from Orig. Mat. Factory & my back feels much better now that I've been sleeping on it. Latex beds are more durable than memory foams, with no fume issues.

A tempur-pedic memory foam mattress or a mattress factory brand mattress?

I have a Tempur-Pedic Cloud. I love it. I've had it for a little over 3 years.

I've had the Sealy Embody and it's much cooler than the tempurpedics so if you're hot natured it may be the way to go but as far as actual support and comfort it's probably about the same, it's the same material, just a different cover.

They are not the same beds. The store requests a bed made at a certain price point and the materials are chosen for the design based on that my the manufacturer. They all have different specs that each mattress of a specific name is held to. It's not even necessarily the same bed if it's named the same, there are several different levels.

I have an Ikea memory foam. Forgot what kind, its the slim one. I just put some extra padding on top and I am good to go. I absolutely despise box springs. Having grown up abroad, I always slept on a mattress that was a bit firm. The box springs usually give me a back ache. Hate going to the rents house and sleeping on the bed in my room.

We got a memory-foam mattress with the "cooling gel" in it from CostCo last year. We got a California King size mattress for right about $1,000.00.

CostCo has a better return policy than most mattress stores, and we used it. I was leery of buying a bed I hadn't laid on before, but after trying different ones in the stores to find out what we liked firmness wise and reading the descriptions of mattresses on CostCo's website, we narrowed down what we wanted.

The first bed we bought was too firm, so we called them up and they came and picked it up. No problems what so ever.

The second bed was the one we liked and either my wife or I comment at least a couple of times a week about how much we love the bed when we are getting into it.

I don't see the mattress that we returned, they may not sell it any more.

We were looking at the iComfort series, and thats how we based our decisions on firmness and what not but decided to try Novaform to see if we could save a thousand bucks or more. And we liked it.

Memberships are $55/yr for the basic one I think

I got this on sale last week for $238 shipped, and I can't tell the difference between it an a $2k+ tempurpedic brand. even if I have to replace it every few years (which it doesn't seem like, its a high quality bed), it's still cheaper than paying the insane prices for the name brand

Nah. Ours is fairly firm overall (ordered it that way), but with some cush for first couple of inches.
