that sucks. I'm hoping I don't... our school is losing ~8 teaching positions (which at a school our size is an entire grade level... 2 4-person teams each grade)

I've only been here for two years and the principal has said the easiest way to do it is last to be hired is first to go. I'm hoping they make an exception for me.

2. Yeah. I saw a few positions with Northrop. I decided to stay with LM to keep my salary+, benefits, pension. Vacay, and yo generally make the transition easier

3. Yeah, I know a few peeps in DC. That's actually where I am originally from. Dads side of the fam. Is there too.

WillemJoel, nah, didn't really let the cat out of the bag. A few people on here knew already... I just don't really get into that kind of thing on TWW. No worries, it is what it is.
Also, yeah, I'll visit raleigh more... it'll be a lot easier now that I'm not so goddamn far away. we shall drink.


Arab13, yeah, basically staying within the same company. I just switched to the civil side of things. Essentially, I was able to find another position fairly quickly elsewhere... was able to use some contacts, and worked some shit. This new position was technically two levels above my current position... but seeing how I had done so much shit here (above and beyond what my level is supposed to do), they were willing to take me on.... effectively giving me a promotion.

still, sucks. I really liked doing what I did. I got a great sense of satisfaction helping warfighters, and fucking around with helos. and jets.
