Latest about the Fiesta:
Quote : | "Officially Official: 2011 Ford Fiesta rated at 40 mpg highway
The EPA has finished calculating the fuel economy of the 2011 Fiesta and as Ford projected, its new baby has hit 40 miles per gallon. The official numbers from the Feds are 29 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway for Fiestas with the new six-speed dual-clutch Powershift gearbox. Those highway numbers top the Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit by four and five mpg, respectively.
Fiestas with the base five-speed manual gearbox get a rating of 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway. All North American Fiestas for now are equipped with a 120 horsepower, 1.6-liter inline four regardless of which gearbox is selected. The first batches of Fiestas should be on their way to dealers in the coming weeks now that production has started." |

I'm going to moderately hijack this thread instead of bringing up an old one from the dead. I've got about 15k cash and I want to buy a used car, warranty would be ideal, but Ill live without one I guess. Ive got a 2002 VW Golf right now that needs about 1-2k in work.
So my choices are: (1) Trade it in for around 4k and get the Audi A3 for 13k, which I could drive year round (2) The Nissan guy is willing to sell for around 13-14k, and I could fix the golf up and drive it in the winters in Cleveland (I know its an auto but I broke my knee before and the knee gets sore sometimes).
Opinions?

How bad did you fuck up your knee? I've had an ACL recon on my left knee and driving manual has never bothered me (other than 3-4 weeks after my surgery).
I don't understand the fascination with push button start. Give me a damn key that I insert and twist. This other shit's gay and an unnecessary complication. 5/19/2010 10:49:03 AM |

Audi A4, can get them easily for ~$15-20k used, 1-2 years old. Beautiful cars.
I got my 2-year old Audi A4 for $15, with ALL features you mentioned. 5/19/2010 12:34:07 PM |

The nissan isn't that great of a deal. If it's for around $12k, then buy it. 5/19/2010 1:28:38 PM |

Pulls 0.93 g on the skidpad... I would like to see a Camry or Accord pull that.

I broke my knee cap you could say. I had a few pins and such in there. It never gets unusable, but it never quite feel stretched out. So, while Id like one, I dont want one enough to deal with it when my knee is stiff. Especially if I do a DSG audi.
15-20 for 2 years old? There are maaaybe a few (like 07, more like 4 years old) for 20-22k. If I could get one for 17k with under 40k miles, Id be psyched, but Im just not sure where this is going on? 5/19/2010 6:59:33 PM |

An automatic 2004 350Z coupe isn't worth 13-14k.
Maybe 12, but only if the tires are in really good shape. 5/20/2010 10:49:20 AM |
