Yeah, Home Depot has CFL's for pennies a piece. Subsidized by the power company, as I understand it. I've got cases of the things.

State surplus has LED stoplight bulbs for like a dollar a piece as well. They run on 120VAC, just wire a lamp plug on. The yellows have a nice glow, and the reds make a great "war room".

^^ The HD deal is probably in store only.

Surplus stoplight LEDs are at the Chapel Hill Rd. site. I picked a few up. Haven't tried plugging them in yet. Look at the back...Some have a 12v transformer and some don't iirc.
