sorry to hear about your leg, get well soon!

This is another example of why long distance running is so harsh on your body.

You know, 6 months ago I would have bet against you finishing a half marathon, but more because you were a pudgy hobbit back then. I didn't realize it would be because you have bones like Betty White.

Get better, and enjoy the meds.

Good luck in recovery and PT. Stick with it and do what the doc/therapist says and you'll come out with a better appreciation for your ability to walk around .

read the story, thats scary

way to tough it out and finish

but *hopefully* had you any suspicion that their might have been a fracture you wouldnt have ran the race/would have stopped instantly and sought medical attention

all in all, hopefully youd know it wasnt worth it

i knew something was wrong, but didnt know it was that wrong.

in hindsight, i knew i had localized pain prior to even starting, and should have probably withdrew from the race as a whole.

but im a stubborn bitch.

[Edited on May 17, 2010 at 12:20 PM. Reason : ive never broken anything before either, so i didnt really know what to look for in warning signs]

nah that was early on in the training, and i took like 2 weeks off from that

in turn, due to trying to "catch up" on the training after the injury, i expedited the mileage increases on the long run, and admidtedly didnt keep up on my mid week runs like i should have to gain the strength necessary

i pretty much fucked myself from the get go here, and i realize that now.

i thought it'd just work itself out

from last thursday, 11 days after the surgery.

rod to the top

for the sports fans in the audience, in the ortho surgeons office, he had some things where he had done some work with dr. james andrews. also, a hand written letter and hall of fame induction ceremony ticket from Dan Marino... to the effect of marino had had a few surgeries from this guy and was showing appreciation for good work by inviting him to the HOF ceremony.

kinda neat
