my sister is a good pet owner, but the invisible fence went out, dog jumped the regular fence and was gone almost two days during terrible rain storms. came back covered in the fuckers.

I thought you weren't supposed to burn ticks off... doesn't the heat cause them to empty their body cavity into your bloodstream, potentially infecting you with whatever diseases they're carrying??

I just grab them and pull until they let go

had another one in my leg a few weeks ago, I think it was the week after this thread was made. then had another one yesterday. All of these are after just being in the backyard watering my plants - not in the woods or even tall grass areas. So strange. I'm paranoid as fuck now when I come inside from watering the plants, i'll scour my body looking for those bastards

yeah are you guys counting just having a tick walking around on your body, or one actually biting you inside your skin? I'm counting it as actual BITES not just being on me. I cant imagine having to have pulled 15+ ticks out of my body already this summer

came back from a well-needed break, only to have a seed tick explosion.

4 bites in the field today, 2 seed ticks still left biting by the time I got home...can't help but wonder how many I can't see.

I think 6 bites in a single day is a record for me. And with that I take the lead.

I got into a nest of deer ticks this afternoon in New Hill. Somewhere around 75 of the little guys. I had to pull onto the side of US 1 to get out and scrape 'em all off. Took a half hour and I still found 10 or so on me later today.
