a minivan full of youngins is way more dangerous than a car full of drunk and/or drinking passengers

[Edited on May 31, 2010 at 1:50 PM. Reason : most of the time]

[Edited on May 31, 2010 at 1:51 PM. Reason : maybe we should have enclosures for children and have an open child container law]

^^^In the OP, you said the passengers were drinking, not the driver, so which was it?

It really surprises me how narcing on drunk drivers would seem so anathema to kids here that they would refuse to believe that such a thing occurred.

Let me assure you, those kids would beg to differ. It definitely occurred and they definitely got busted by the cops, courtesy of me.

Doesn't appear to be any evidence the kid driving was drinking

Nor any evidence this happened

All we have evidence of is another pathetic loser lying to TWW about being a tuff guy

"Also, I'm about 99% sure that it at least used to be legal to drink in the car in NC, as long as the driver didn't drink anything at all."

For around 6 months back in 2001 (or maybe 2002) this was definitely legal. The law basically stated that all passengers in a vehicle can consume beer/wine/liquor from open containers as long as everyone is 21 or older (duh) and the driver is 21 or older and hasn't had anything to drink. Me and some friends personally put this to the test after an NCSU football game. We were stuck in traffic on Trinity leaving the game. The driver hadn't had anything to drink all day. I got out of the car and grabbed 4 cans of beer (for the 4 passengers) from the cooler in the trunk. We all drank them and the cans were quite visible (windows were open). A state trooper came up and took our beers, and then after looking at our drivers licenses handed the beers back to us and told us to have a nice day.

Of course, this was repealed b/c some vaginas in the Capital think anything alcohol related is evil.

Haha. I remember that. The cop was acting like we were "lucky" that the rule was there even though we did our due diligence about it -- obviously thought we didn't know the rule at all and it was mainly an excuse just to ID the people in the car. I think maybe Heather (?) was driving and the driver had to be able to blow a 0.0.

It was Tim driving his Pontiac, and I believe in the car besides you and me it was Katie and Ben.
