I'd imagine it'd be like a sushi thai.

I sure hope so.

I always liked Ten Ten, never saw why people didn't like it.

"And before some sushi snob piece of shit douche ass comes in here with, "That [all-you-can-eat] sushi is worse than grocery store sushi! You should only buy sushi at these places approved by me -- each roll should cost no less than $2 and each plate no less than $20!! RAWR RAWR MY SUSHI IS BETTER!", I have eaten nearly a ton of all-you-can-eat sushi over the last seven years, and I have enjoyed it every time, and not gotten sick once."

Sushi as a food source exists purely as a form of culinary snobbery. You're the odd man out. There's no such thing as a sushi snob, there's people who like sushi and they like it to be prepared in the proper manner, and then there's people who are just satisfied with whatever sushi they can get.

I too enjoy all-you-can-eat sushi occasionally, and yea, there's no reason to get sick as long as you're not doing something stupid or you're at a total dive of a place. But neither your enjoyment of buffet sushi nor your ability to keep from getting sick makes buffet sushi better than other forms of sushi just because it's cheap. I understand and acknowledge that perhaps the change in quality is just not satisfactory enough to keep you from spending less money, and perhaps you are the more practical for it, but that doesn't make spending a traditional amount of money for traditional amount of sushi snobbery. You're being a snob just as much as those you claim to counter by putting up this decree of "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT FROM AN ENTHUSIAST, Y'ALL BE LYIN' AND GETTIN' ME PISSED."

^^Your logic, it's trippin' man.

I mean I don't have a problem with you being a buffet snob, you crazy revolutionaries.

awww, I remember when Gojo and I ate there one time. He said he started feeling a little queasy, went to the bathroom, and someone had taken, as he describes it, "the most nasty foul smelling dump I've ever smelled" and that it made him even more sick to his stomach. He left feeling even more sick, we pull out, turn right on varsity... he tells me to pull over. He gets out of the car, walks over to the woods, and vomits up everything.

Best afternoon ever.

I ate there the other day. Much nicer looking inside. For ten dollars I got a roll and six pieces of sashimi that were pretty good if a bit smaller than what you might get elsewhere. Definitely worth the ten bucks, though.

My buddy got the chicken tempura and spoke highly of it. They also had Thai, Chinese, and other Asian dishes on the menu.

Overall much classier than Ten Ten, with better food but no buffet.

They do still have what I assume are the original fish tanks.

This place is not gonna make it.

That location is way too shitty for anything remotely upscale.

The saving grace of ten ten was that you could pay a flat rate, eat until you were about to explode, then be home fast enough before it hit bottom and the blowout shit came.

Hard to gauge -- I've only eaten at each place once. But based on what I've seen, yeah, pretty much.

I went tonight... had an average experience. The waitress forgot to put in my order (Chirashi), so everyone was done by the time I got my dinner, and it wasn't that great. My wonton soup was interesting but good - lots of extra stuff in it, like Asian sprouts. The tempura and crab puffs that I scored from my friends while I was waiting on my dinner were delicious.

I'll probably go back (if I don't get sick tonight! lol), since it's so close, but I would definitely get rolls for the buy one/get one deal.

I also want to try their saketini... I hope it's as good at the one at Shaba Shabu.
