heh I still call it Putt-Putt too. I think if someone said, "Let's go to Adventure Landing," I'd have no idea where they were talking about.

wow, this thread is fucking fascinating and so relevant to my experiences in Raleigh. virtually everyone posting went to my high school and some even to my small private primary school. I emailed my parents/grandparents the link to that thread, I can't wait to see what they think.

we should start another thread with the same link that's called "If you're from Raleigh, you need to read this!" haha

I do hate how they try to call the north hills area mid-town.

it's pretentious as hell, but i guess it fits the folks that live in that area.

^^^^^ (somewhere up there) I so totally remember the Dunderbak's. My dad loved that place. Can't remember what it was he got there, though.

just think..before long, we'll be adding the "remember when there weren't roundabouts on Hillsborough/Pullen/etc.?"

I'd say it's too soon to be "remember when"ing that kind of shiznit but you know it'll happen...

I miss Dunderbak's. I was really sad when they told me it was closing. I used to get my lunch from there a lot when I worked at the mall.

hahaha, motherfucking Dunderbak's

When I was little my Dad would always stock up on imported beer there when we visited Raleigh, because there wasn't really any place that sold stuff like that in Wilmington back then.

goodnightraleigh.com is also a great site

Raleigh native, born at Wake Med, parents/family went to Millbrook, I went to Sanderson. Went to St. Timothy's-Hale (St. David's) for primary school.

Shoneys was the shit. the one I remember was off Capital and Huntleigh

I miss the old North Hills when it was an indoor mall, especially Andy's Pizza (somehow better than the Quail Corners location) and the Great American Cookie Factory (cookie cakes for every bithday at school)

Dunderbacks Old World Market at Crabtree was awesome.

The Ice Caps at Dorton definitely bring me back.

I still call "Adventure Landing" Putt-Putt.

Anyone remember "the Showgram" with Bob and Mike?...later Bob and Madison... on G105

haha Steve Swinkowski the weathergod

The Mars Music on Huntleigh and Capital used to be a HQ (home quarters) but then they all went under in like 1992

Old Bulls Stadium where the bull would light up and blow smoke after a home run...

Discovery Zone!!!

Ultrazone!!

the K&W type thing called "The Capitol Room" that was IN Belk's at Crabtree

Fayetteville st. was

Legend has it that Cameron village houses a complete underground complex that was soley filled with bars during my parents' college days. wish we still had that....

Anyone remember the Carolina Cobras Arena Football team?

Skate Ranch!! (still exists, but extremely ghetto now)
