The Pit is only worth going to at lunch time when the prices are literally half the dinner price for the same portion. Ribs are the hit. Pulled pork is pretty good. The rest is just meh.

I think the main problem is that you can get the same quality food in a "dumpy shack beside a strip mall." When people look at the prices and the atmosphere they expect a little better. It's not bad; I've had much much worse BBQ at other places.

^dingdingding I got into a fight once at the Pit with an ex about this topic. He said it was overpriced and too snobby (I paid). I just wanted a nice, peaceful meal and to watch the taping of Man vs Food. Just because its BBQ doesn't mean it has to be gross.

The pit is pretty delicious, but you're literally paying 200% more for food so you can eat it in a pretty room. That's the only difference.

The full service bar also makes it a bit different than most bbq places.
