I filter all kinds of crazy stuff. And I've long ago politely sent emails to my Dad showing things on snopes and now that I've done that a few times, he's become a bit of a snopes-expert himself. In general I get far less stuff, and it was - at its peak - not as much as it sounds like some of you are getting.

Back before email, I remember things like that coming through the grapevine. There was this story that in Fayetteville, carjackers were waiting under your car (this was esp. at the mall) and when you walked up to unlock it, they'd cut your Achilles and snitch your car.

Yeah it was either that one or one where like, carjackers would put a ticket on your back windshield or something. The thought was that you would get in your car, start it, see the ticket in the back and get out to take it off before you left the parking space. With your door open the carjacker jumps from the bushes and gets in the driver seat and drives off with your car
