I marinate my chicken in Dale's Sauce for a few hours, then baste it with Sweet Baby Ray's while grilling. Perfect combo of salty and sweet.

The Fresh Market on Lawndale is (well was, considering it moved around the corner) the original? Never knew that. I used to go to the one in Quaker Village a lot; wonder if that was the second or if that was one of the Winston-Salem locations.

Their corporate offices are in Raleigh, actually. One of the office buildings on Glenwood west of Crabtree Valley Mall, tucked back in the trees there, has their name on it.

Also, while not a direct-to-the-consumer link, Murphy Family Farms is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, hog producers in the country, based out of Rose Hill NC. So there's a pretty good chance they raised the pig that became your NC BBQ. Headed by NC State alumnus Wendell H. Murphy, the same whose name is on the football operations center at Carter-Finley.

Carolina Clam Chowder

Though I don't know why this one has clam shells and apparently cream in it.
