Did you know a slice of red velvet cheesecake from the cheesecake factory is 1250 calories?!?

One single little slice! For someone who doesn't go over 2k calories most days, that's like 2 meals in single piece of food. Had not planned for that. Don't have a lot of options that fit in with my remaining calories.

Should I have a few peanut butter crackers, 10 pepper jack cheez-its, or half a granola bar?

Actually, I'd rather think that 1250 calories is on the low end for most items from Cheesecake Factory. Also, if you stick below 2k per day, that would explain why you're so damn thin!

Personally, I'd go with the peanut butter crackers. Gotta love the PB.

To be more specific I usually aim for between 2k & 2.1k. This site says I burn about 2070 calories a day, so that's a weight maintenance intake. Although I usually end up skipping once a week. And if I manage to exercise then I'm open to upping the limit for that day. A lot of it is guess work. I used to follow calories closely. These days I have a good general sense of most foods (other than random cheesecake slices which I looked up) so I just eye ball it.

Probably while I was on the train ride cross-country earlier this month. Some older woman kept staring at me while I was relaxing in the observation/lounge car, and I could never figure out why. My guess was that she was curious about my DSLR camera, since I was using it to take pictures of the scenery, but I didn't want to go ask her. After a while, I just decided to leave, because I was bored.

^ I have a Nikon D3000... decent way to start out, IMHO. I think I had the usual 55mm lens on it at the time, since i was taking landscape shots. I'd have to defer to the smart people in the DSLR thread for advice on lenses, as I'm nothing close to an expert.
