I personally didn't believe jack squat when I found out why he was a felon. He didn't touch or molest a child. He had feelings and told a mentor he wanted to. He asked what kind of treatment he could get. They arrested him for child endangerment (he has kids) and he was charged on some weak pedophilia charges so he could seek the treatment. He has the lowest felony a person can get.....He got 2 years probation. After he completes his therapy program, he will no longer have to register as a sex offender since he didn't actually commit a crime against a child.

I would have never let him into the house if I thought he was a danger to anyone, esp. with my husband having a 9 year old sister. I did talk to both his therapist and probation officer (my roommate gave them permission) to determine the risks and I found him to be a fairly upstanding citizen with some urges that he wished to control. He outwardly avoids all situations where there are children present and attends weekly adult only church services. He goes to therapy weekly. He pays his share of the rent on time and cleans up after himself most of the time. He has a full time computer gig in RTP.

As for the number of cops, I asked. Basically, they take the cars and execute all the search warrants for the day. They usually execute 4-6. They go from location to location. The amount they had was sufficient for a large office complex and that is usually the group that goes. I would say there were 10-14 involved in the actual searching. Brian and his partner were assigned to hang out and talk with me.....There was a computer guy upstairs. Since everyone wasn't super needed, the rest hung outside for further instruction.

It seems to me that is what I stated above came from BOTH his probation officer and therapist. The person he confided in was a preacher.

It also seems to me that if he actually touched a child he would ALWAYS be registered as a sex offender and gotten hopefully more than just probation. I might be a little gullible; however, I do believe in second chances. I do believe he is trying to rehabilitate himself. I do believe each situation is unique and under every circumstance that I checked into prior to allowing this, non made me concerned.

Yes, my husband and I have had roommates most the time we were married. When he was laid off, he needed the extra income. Before we were married, we had 2. This was the person my husband convinced would be ok. I was the one that did the research before approving it.

I mean he is moving out before the baby is born and that 4th bedroom will be the nursery. We do not need the 2500 sf to ourselves. I mean the rent is more than half our mortgage.....Def. nice to have the extra money.
