Personally, I'd be pissed annoyed if some bitch that wasn't paying rent took the closer spot.

I've never even considered parking in my girlfriends townhouse driveway. It only parks one car and I don't live there. I'm also not that lazy.

HUR - perhaps you and your gf should consider living together so you don't have to worry about the roommate issues you seem to instigate.

You don't live there. You don't pay rent there.

You have no homeowner/renter rights. You need to yield (both manners-wise and space-wise) to the people who actually are spending their money to live there.

so quit your bitching. sheesh.

Isn't this first day shit?

I laugh how HUR comes in here wanting to feel backed up by TWWers who post "Fuck her, leave your toothbrush there anyway and tell her to suck it the fuck up!"

But instead, TWWers with manners (and I'm a little surprised at how many there are) are coming and saying the reasonable thing, which is that you have no footing in this argument at all. You need to move the toothbrush unless your gf and her roommate can come to terms on your leaving it there.

[Edited on July 27, 2010 at 5:47 PM. Reason : And then HUR gets pissy and defensive about it when he gets called out]

I'll be honest... I would not want a significant other's toothbrush in the toothbrush holder unless they were a paying roommate.

i don't really understand why the roommate cares, but what i don't understand even more is why that is some how offensive. most normal people would just say, "oh yeah, sorry no problem" and move it somewhere out of the way and never think about it again.

i have a feeling though that the roommate has a problem with you making yourself at home too much in general and just decided to say something about this, and as you don't pay to live there and are only a guest you have to respect their wishes. really this comes down to your parents fucking up and raising you with an unfounded sense of entitlement that is readily apparent in almost every post of yours.

in summary; you have no ground here, you can't understand why, its a sign of your general unfounded sense of entitlement, and you need to grow up and stop being a whiny kid

Really though the opposite is the case, I strongly prefer staying at my place, and we more often crash at my place. Honestly the only reason I have a toothbrush there
is because numerous times we were downtime/at party/etc and my excuse for not wanting to go back to her place (instead of mine)
was not having a toothbrush. She thus bought one for me as a way of encouraging me to stay at her place more.

Quote :
"general unfounded sense of entitlement"

blah blah blah

not about me kid, after some inner reflection it is more about a roommate running over my girl. I suppose this is really the thing that really finally blew my gasket on their relationship as roommates.

I asked my old roommate and he never gave a 2nd though that she had a towel on the 4 rung towel rack, or a spot on the toothbrush holder. He laughed at the situation at her place.
Quote :
"do you J pay rent there?

no yes!

her roommate needs to shut the fuck up over something stupid like a 2nd toothbrush in the holder that she never usesthen.""

fixed it...

How far apart are we talking? My gf bought me a toothbrush to keep at her place when she was in Greenville and me in Raleigh. If you guys live in the same town, this should be a non-issue.

Well you wasted your thread trying to get TWW on your side in the OP. You should have kept it more concise and left yourself out of the middle of it.

in all honesty, this is not about the toothbrush, this is not even about the roommate.....this is about you being pissed your gf didn't stand up for you.

so sort it out between you and your girl..........don't involve anyone or anything else

Serious response. Btw, your toothbrush is probably better off under the sink. There, it's not getting shit particles all over it.

HUR, all girls are crazy so don't even bother trying to bring logic into the argument or make sense out of it. Just leave your toothbrush in J's bedroom and be done with it.

Oh, and maybe bring over like 3-4 old toothbrushes and put them in the holder, just for fun

the entitlement is what gets me the most.

you literally have no standing here to make this request. if you want your girlfriend to stand up for herself, fine. but you dont. or you would have told her that instead of coming here.

what you want is V-A-L-I-D-A-T-I-O-N, like a child for your desire. this is ridiculous because you have zero equity financially or emotionally in the dynamic of the apartment to be making a claim on the bathroom. you are at best an interloper and your girlfriend is likely just as child-like and underdeveloped, thus you probably deserve eachother.

The roommate is being ridiculous, yes. Her demands are unreasonable; she's obviously a controlling bitch. But, as so many have pointed out, you don't get to go into someone else's house and tell them how to act.

For my part, my roommates' girlfriends (when they have them) tend to leave shit all over the bathroom and I don't give a fuck because it's the goddamn bathroom. At the end of the day, I'm gonna shit in it. OK, yes, there's showers, but as long as there's physically enough room for me, a bar of soap, and a thing of shampoo, then I'm happy.

Unfortunately for you, your girlfriend sees this as "no big deal." She doesn't think the request is ridiculous, so you'd have to be a jackass to demand that she act like she thinks it is just because you think it is. If there's an issue where the girlfriend thinks something is a big deal but still rolls over, then you should push her to be more assertive about that thing rather than your pet peeve.

Do you really want a girl who can't fight her own battles, and stand up for rational things that benefit both you *and* her? Especially in the face of a crazy, irrational bitch?

I agree that it is her place to request keeping an extra toothbrush there, it's not your place to make the request since you don't live there.

If she can't stand up for herself in regards to a toothbrush, then what other things is she going to be harmfully passive about that will impact the future of your relationship?

From experience I can tell you that doing battle with your girlfriend's roommates is a lost cause. While your girlfriend should stick up for herself, and the roommate is in fact being an idiot, you have no ground to stand on. It's not worth the trouble, believe me. Keep your toothbrush in your girlfriend's room if you don't like it being under the sink.

or maybe, just maybe, the girlfriend is mature enough to realize that its just a fucking toothbrush and it isn't worth starting drama with her roommate over.

actually nevermind, if she is that sensible she probably wouldn't be with HUR
