no, not at all.

the only part's i'm even remotely concerned with are takeoff (first 10 minutes) and landing (last 10 minutes)

everything else is just the same as sitting here....

and for the record I will do my best to never sit in coach for a trans-atlantic or trans-pacific flight ever again... that was very uncomfortable...

Lol, there's nothing "supposedly" about it. Flying on a commercial airline is way way way safer than just driving around town. You're probably just afraid b/c you have no control. So grow a sack and quit crying like a little girl. If the news channels reported every daily traffic fatality they wouldn't have time to cover the rest of the news.

my last flight back from korea, i had a domestic flight from ulsan to seoul, and due to heavy fog that was delayed... i missed my connection to a united flight back to sfo, but got bumped to a lufthansa business class seat.

and boy, lufthansa destroyed united.. which was expected. i also really enjoyed air canada's business class. had good experiences with cathay pacific/british airways too

flying has never bothered me. I have been in a smoke filled cabin that made an emergency landing and was fine. Got lots of free airfare from it! Just remember if it does go down mid-flight you will die,- so put your hands in your pockets if you are wearing cotten so it is easier for them to identify your remains.
If it is takeoff/landing- these dudes have done thousands of practice no engine emergency landings, calm down.

Once when I was flying from Phoenix to Maui, HI we had to turn around and fly back to Phoenix after being in the air for 45 minutes, due to a bad "mechanical reading" or whatever. We had to do a heavy landing since the plane was full of fuel. As such all the emergency fire trucks were standing by on the runway. Not a huge deal though, but we had to switch planes and had a slight delay.

The 100,000 frequent flier miles for the inconvenience was nice though.

I've developed a completely irrational fear of flying over the past few years. I don't know why, but I get extremely anxious and have a panic attack. The only good flying experience I had in the past 5 years was when I flew from DC to Charleston, and it was "good" because the flight was delayed long enough for me to be stupid drunk and just pass out right after boarding.

Although, I thought it was a good idea to jump out of a rickety little C182 last summer. For some reason, that pos plane didn't bother me.

Express elevators also suck. Those bastards really mess with my head
