I was trying to decide what I should have as my snack since dinner won't be til 830 tonight... this will be it
also for the whole vs skim... whole is too much for me, but when you make it into chocolate, it is fine. I've never had a problem with skim, but I usually buy 1%. The fiance did the shopping yesterday though, so I imagine we have whole milk sitting in the fridge now 11/8/2010 4:14:54 PM |

PB
Jelly
Cream cheese and jam* sandwiches OTOH
(* high fruit content with bits and pulp, and preferably sweetened with fruit juice)
P.S. Cream cheese and honey sandwiches are awesome too. (also awesome with sliced banana inside)

I've never heard of such a thing... would be willing to give it a try though (unfortunately I don't eat homemade jam though)
^^Never tried it, but I'm sure it's alright 11/8/2010 5:45:32 PM |

i have never made jam at home either, but on the rare occasion that i buy jam now (cut back a lot), i pick some expensive european ones which are sweetened with concentrated grape juice and DO NOT have a smooth uniform texture, rather, they have seeds (berries), skin fragments, stringy bits of pulp, sometimes even a couple of whole fruits (usually in black cherry jam). usually called preserves or conserves, rather than jam (i.e., preserved fruit, or conserved fruit, rather than jammed fruit).
St. Dalfour is one of the best, and they have some super awesome flavors.

I'm a peanut butter & honey man, myself. I also happen to have a half gallon of Maple View's chocolate milk in my fridge. 11/8/2010 6:35:06 PM |
