Franz Beckenbauer is on Wendell Murphy's plane to Raleigh right now. He wanted to come out of retirement to coach in the ACC. 12/11/2010 8:33:32 AM |

there is no reason state shouldn't be able to compete on the national level year in, year out. north carolina has the best youth soccer programs in the country, and with the success unc and wake have had with homegrown talent, there is no excuse." |
I have nothing against them. They were fun to watch, but no more alumni coaches please. OLff the top of my head I can think of 4 right now, Norm Sloan, Chuck Amato, Les Robinson, and Sidney Lowe. So far only one of those has turned out to work well.12/11/2010 12:32:48 PM |

rumor is we asked Caleb Porter from Akron and he (obviously) turned it down. But it's nice to see we're shooting for the best coach available
there's no reason we shouldn't have a team that's consistently ranked, everybody else in the ACC usually is 12/17/2010 10:19:56 AM |

From what I have heard, sounds like a great hire. Hopefully, we'll soon see some results to prove that. 12/22/2010 5:55:16 PM |

More specifically, his 2010 Butler squad entered the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 5 nationally and was one of only two unbeaten teams in the nation. He led Butler to the national stage with top 25 rankings, league championships and NCAA Tournament appearances. His overall record as head coach at Butler was an impressive 59-25-15, and the club's 16 wins this season ranked among the best in team history." |
WTF, we actually hired a good coach?12/22/2010 10:15:38 PM |
