Students really don't take advantage of the Student Wolfpack Club enough. Everyone hates on it, but for going to a few soccer/volleyball/tennis/baseball games you are guaranteed tickets AND they are better seats than the other students get. $30 a year for guaranteed decent seats for ~6 home football games and 10+ home basketball games (with the best seats) seems like a no brainer to me

After the first 3 or 4 weeks of school so many people quit going to events that you can be at the top easily.

[Edited on September 29, 2010 at 3:20 PM. Reason : I realize not guaranteed seats, but if you go to enough stuff they are]

and this is why i hated SWPC

bunch of assholes show up to soccer games, do their homework, and leave at halftime so they can get good seats for football

i'll never forget when the soccer team called them out during a game

if you need an indication that SWPC is not an organization that's supportive of all of our athletic programs, look no further than the student athletes who have to deal with their lack of support on a weekly basis

Hey, if it wasn't for the SWPC no one would show up and look bored for the first half of soccer games.

Full disclosure: I was never in the SWPC, however I did occasionally show up to women's soccer games my freshman year because I was trying to bang one of the players who was in my chem 101 class.

Nope, didn't work. Probably had to do more with my weak sauce game though.

i went to plenty of soccer games during undergrad

and they were at goddamn method road, not in the heart of campus

but i like soccer

--

i don't have any problem with point events, but you shouldn't be able to leave at halftime and get a point, and you damn sure shouldn't be able to do your homework

it's an org. that's supposed to be about supporting athletics. give credit for support or don't give it at all.

What are they going to do, hire a "fan monitor" to make sure that people are actually cheering? Waste of money. Just be glad that there is some impetus for people to go to non-revenue sporting events for any amount of time.

I went to a few soccer games, a couple of wrestling matches, and a track and field meet one time, but other than that it was all football, basketball, and baseball for me.

I know that monitoring activity is unreasonable, but they could at least require that you stay for the whole game.

Why? What good does that do anyone? It's counterproductive to look into the stands and see people reading chemistry books when you're having a really great game with UVA.

If they forced people to stay the whole game, I would boo the home team out of spite

damn that sucks. The tickets I got ended up being in section 326 which are under the scoreboard. Apparently they did add the extra temp bleachers on the South concourse but no one has said how they plan on assigning those.
