I gotta ask... Did you really visit Camden NJ? Or did you just pass through? Or did you just hear stories? I seriously doubt you stopped and visited.

I ask because the only things to see there are the Sesquahana Bank Center for outdoor concerts (which is always a good time) and the aquarium (which is nice).

lumberton, nc

one of the poorest and most desolate places in the u.s. It's gotta be.

Also, Detroit.

I know Princeton isn't exactly a surrounding suburb but it's actually pretty nice. I stayed in downtown Princeton a few weeks ago for work.

- Lumberton/Pembroke/Fayetteville, NC
- there was this random ass town we stayed in overnight in West Virginia once outside of Charleston. I couldn't remember the name but it was pretty bad.
- i'm surprised no one has said Myrtle Beach. i know some parts of it are nice but overall i think the place is a dump.

Agreed. I've been living in Huntsville, AL for the past 3 years and although this city isn't too bad, if you drive 30 mins in any direction things start getting scary.

I was genuinely frightened just driving around.

just about anywhere in FL is a dump. i hate that state.

and yeah, Lumberton is probably the worst city I've seen in NC. though Gastonia is pretty fucking skank. hard to say which is worse.

Baltimore MD was a real shithole when i got my car stolen and then robbed. But it probably didn't help that i was a homeless youth hanging out with junkies in the ghetto. And I hear they've revitalized a lot of the city in the past 15 years or so.

now my least favorite place is Granite Falls WA it's like the meth-head redneck capital of western Washington State. I'm not real fond of Tacoma WA or Everett WA either.

^ disagree:

Chicago is a cool city. Minneapolis can be pretty happening, also. Kansas City and St. Louis aren't too bad if you know the right places. even a small college town like Iowa City can be nice enough.

Hahaha, I have to agree. I live in Lawton and forecast for both Lawton and Wichita Falls at the ABC station. Not really much to do around here. Only saving grace is the "mountains" to the north, OKC an hour north, and Dallas 3 hours south. No reason to be here unless you work for Goodyear or are with the Army.

People are nice, and I enjoy meeting them when they come up to me, but there's not much else.

I've visited a few midwest cities, none I liked. Too boring... unless you have a crotch rocket and tons of flat road with no cops to play around.

Houston has its bright spots (Rice Village and Galleria), but otherwise it's a pretty nasty city. The cockroaches there are the size of kittens. The pollution is pretty awful. And there's a ton of crime.

I don't miss living there.

Jacksonville, FL is pretty awful as well.

Fayetteville beats DC for me simply because escape from Fayettenam is significantly easier than DC.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. Though I feel really bad for those poor fuckers at Altus Air Force Base. Meers is pretty cool though, OKC isn't bad and Dallas has good music.

i've heard the same thing. i have a good friend who lived in Baltimore up until about a year ago and he said the city has really started to revitilize. people were going in and buying dumpy row houses and cleaning them up.

I think "city" is being used too generously in some of these cases. Some of these are just large towns.

For that matter, a lot of the cities and towns in upstate ny are booty too, like Binghamton, Albany, and Syracuse.

Elizabeth city, NC is a shit hole.

I worked in Johnson city

I've stayed in wv a few times and the entire state is one big shithole.

I also lived just outside Syracuse ny when I was young. Moved to Rochester in middle school.

Elkhart, Indiana

A gigantic shithole. Surrounded by cornfields filled with rusted out vehicles/farm equipment and roadkill. It's poor as shit. The landscape is flat and boring. Nothing to do there except drink yourself to sleep of smoke meth. And, the whole area smells like a dirty armpit because of the ethanol plants. Plus, a friend of mines car was broken into there when we were up there for a Notre Dame game.

The Earth should open up and swallow that piece of shit town and put it's inhabitants out of their misery.

Also, a close second is Hardeeville, SC. If it wasn't so close to Savannah it would easily be the worst. If I was forced to live there I'd kill myself immediately.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to put Jacksonville, FL on here. Yeah it is pretty sucky as a tourist, but once you know the city a little bit Jax is an okay town.

A truly horrible nightmare of a town is Marion, SC. If headed out to Myrtle Beach, you may have the unfortunate consequence of driving through this abortion. The highlight is either the prison or the four auto parts stores all within a quarter mile of each other (NAPA, Discount Auto Parts, O'Reiley's, and Advance).

Abilene TX was a horrid place to stay and I was only there the one night. I would take a different route through tx just to avoid it next time. only cool thing was the drive from there to cross plains was pretty fun and interesting.

Yeah I heard Princeton wasn't too bad. I was staying in Lawrenceville/Lawerence/Lawerence Township (all those places have different names depending on where you are and what map you are looking at). I was working a project right along the turnpike. I hope to never come within 100 miles of that city/state again.
