i had these kids come to my door around 7 pm tonight banging on it trying to sell DVDs. it was weird, there were like three or four kids, and they just bang on all the apartment doors at one time, and they each had a handful of loose DVDs. i didn't see what they were and they weren't shrinkwrapped, but they said they were selling them for 3 bucks apiece.
this is not the first time kids from my neighborhood have come around and tried to sell stuff. a few weeks ago it was chocolate bars, but i didn't answer the door then. i could just hear them outside. 10/28/2010 1:54:40 AM |

He said he was selling subscriptions to make money so he could afford to take care of his daughter. He then had a list full of signatures (pages of them). He said if he received enough signatures verifying that he was a good man, a judge would take it into consideration and possibly grant him custody of his daughter. I told him I would sign the sheet, but didn't want any magazines. I just gave him $12 for a yearly subscription, but asked for no magazines to be sent. Then we sat on the tailgate of my truck for like 3o minutes and talked about life, family etc. I truly thought my money was going to help out a good man..........
Two months later I see him downtown and he gives me the same spill I told him he was a lying mother fucker and the dude just scampered off down an alley." |
I think I gave this guy like $7.. I had just bought like 4 bottles of liquor, so I felt bad saying no, when he went into such detail I figured it might be true. 10/28/2010 8:35:25 AM |

Do what I do and ask them to loan you the money for the subscription or whatever they are selling you and then ask for more money. "I gotta pay off this mortgage/rent somehow man, or I'll be evicted." I almost always come away with a profit when I see a someone about to beg me for money. "I hear that jingle-jangle in yer pocket, I know you got some monies." Always catches them off-guard. 10/28/2010 9:02:50 AM |
