As for how many times I used them prior to getting married... Probably more than any of the numbers I've seen here.

as long as i remember to hang it flat over the shower curtain rod i can go 1-2 weeks on the same towel. it dries quickly and stays relatively fresh. if i leave it bunched up on the towel ring thing hanging on the wall it goes straight in the hamper. 10/30/2010 10:42:12 PM |

wow. i get more mileage out of my towels than anyone else here.
gross.
maybe it has something to do with brushing the water off of my arms and legs before i get out thus resulting in a less wet towel, because they never get to smelling. 10/30/2010 11:20:43 PM |

3-4 times. My wife is pretty anal about washing towels which is fine by me. In college, I always got a new towel out on Sundays.
I knew some guys back when I was at State that basically refused to do any laundry for months. Their house and especially the bathrooms smelled like complete shit. If I took a piss at their place, I would use TP to dry my hands because the wash cloth was stiff and yellow. 10/30/2010 11:40:23 PM |

Ah, but you have no idea that I steal your towel from the bathroom when I wash linens. You really only use a towel for about a week before I wash it, z.10/31/2010 12:27:58 AM |

Maybe half a week?
I, too, am in charge of the towel washing in my household. I throw the towels into the wash whenever I do laundry. I'd rather wash them too often than not enough...

I have two towels...the green one for most of my body, and the blue one for my genitals. I keep the green one for 10 days or so, but the blue one gets washed every 3 days. I'm a big fan of the "flossing" technique, where I loop the towel under my legs and floss my crack/taint/sack in one fell swoop, so I can only use the same towel a few times for that purpose before it gets grody. 11/1/2010 11:40:35 AM |

traces of mold are apparent after approx 3-4 days of a wet towel. Therefore, properly hung to dry, a towel can last me a month. but I usually wash it anyway after 4 uses because there is extra room in the laundry load. 11/1/2010 1:25:36 PM |

I would say I use the same towel for about a week. And there is nothing gross about it. If you have showered properly, then you will be clean. All the towel is doing is drying you off. As long as the towel dries fully between uses, then I see nothing wrong with it. 11/1/2010 2:00:23 PM |
