We beat MD and VT -> Orange Bowl
We beat MD and lose to VT -> Chic-fil-A

MD beats FSU and MD beats NCSU -> Champs Sports
FSU beats MD and MD beats NCSU -> Sun (because we drop behind FSU and MD). I guess the Champs Sports bowl COULD pick us over MD.

anyone wanna update the opponents portion of the bowl game scenarios? (i.e. who is currently the SEC#5 or Big East #2, etc.)

I'd like to see who we would potentially play if we landed in the Orange, Chic, Champs or Sun Bowls

how badass would it be to play Boise State in the Orange Bowl? We would likely get blown out, but thats amazing exposure for us. and how much press would we get if we actually beat Boise State and gave them their first loss in two years?

Boise will likely jump TCU if they win out and end up in the Rose should auburn and Oregon win out. That could leave us with TCU though

ah, that kinda sucks. Still exposure, but Boise seems to be the "sexier" team out of the two

and dont we have some bad blood with Boise State from back when Amato was here? Didnt he call out Petersen for being afraid to schedule ACC teams or something like that? This was the same year as when Boise beat Oklahoma on the Statue of Liberty play I believe (or it couldve been the year before)

^I think your confusing Boise with Fresno State and it was about non-qualifiers. Pat Hill then said we should visit them. You might be talking about something else, but there was a spat with Fresno State and Hill.

^Don't fall into the hype. I would LOVE a game with either of those. We would be bigtime underdogs and all the pressure would be on them. Those teams are NOT that good and I don't know if you have noticed, but we can hang with probably anyone

NCSU beats UMD and NCSU beats VT -> Orange Bowl vs. LSU or Auburn (if they lose SEC championship) or Wisconsin (assuming they win Big 10) or Pitt (if BCS realizes ACC and Big East are not up to the level of other conferences this year)

NCSU beats UMD and VT beats NCSU -> Chic-fil-A Bowl vs. South Carolina (if they lose SEC championship) or LSU/Arkansas

UMD beats NCSU -> We would drop behind VT, FSU, UMD and be tied with Miami. We could be chosen over UMD because our fanbase travels well and end up at Champ Sports (vs. UConn/WVU), but will likely be in Sun (vs. Oregon State/Arizona) or Car Care Bowl (vs. Uconn/WVU).

meant to post this in the ACCCG thread but it got the bucket

There's a Chik-Fil-A ticket package where you can get 4 upper level tickets for $100
also includes vouchers for 4 tshirts and spicy chicken sandwiches
total comes to $115 w/ processing fees, still better than cheap tix through ticketmaster

you have to call 336-331-3820 and place your order by Tuesday, Nov. 23 (2 days from now)

Based strictly on possible matchups, I'd rather drop down to the Sun than get Champs Sports. When's the last time we even played a Pac 10 team? A game vs. Oregon State would be a good end to the season, if we did lose to Md.

You're thinking of Fresno as EZ2Score21 mentioned. The story is way off.

We'd just lost to Akron. Amato blamed the loss partially on the fact that Akron takes partial qualifiers and NC State doesn't, which is a shitty excuse since there are tons of shitty schools with partial qualifiers and amazing teams with no partial qualifiers. Pat Hill called him out on his shit and challenged us to play Fresno State.

In the end, it was all just Amato being a moron.

If we won the ACCCG

Right now you are looking at Wisconsin vs. TCU/Boise (whoever finishes higher) in the rose bowl
Fiesta will be Big 12 winner vs. Big East Winner
Sugar would be LSU against Stanford most likely
That would leave Orange with Us against Boise/TCU whoever is lower.

I can't remember where I read it, but Pitt won't be in the Orange Bowl this year because the Fiesta has the last pick and there is no tie-in anymore with the Orange.

I wish we'd get a tie-in with a game that has a Big Ten or Pac 10 team. Tired of playing the Big East.

Probably not. Stanford will be in the Rose vs. Wisconsin. The higher team of TCU/Boise will play Oregon, because Auburn will lose at Bama, likely. The lower will play in the Sugar or Orange.

You could also look at it from the perspective that even if we got matched up with an intriguing Pac-10 team the atmosphere at a Sun Bowl game would be fucking terrible and boring to watch because there would be like 5k people there.

Not to mention there's pretty much zero chance we play UCONN in a bowl game.

I was at the last Champs Sports/Tangerine Bowl and that stadium was a dump in the middle of the ghetto. Also, I hate Orlando.

Let's just hope we get Chick Fil A.

Yes however my list was based on things finishing how they are now. For all we know Boise loses to Nevada, Oregon loses to Arizona, Auburn loses to Alabama, etc etc.

^, ^^ Just a side note pointing out that his sentence structure implies that both wins together are unlikely (and is taken as a collective whole), not that both a win at UM is unlikely and also a win at VT is unlikely. It's semantics, really.

I still can't believe we've won 8 games this season after everyone pegged us for 3-6 wins during preseason.

Because Auburn has had too many close calls go their way and you would expect Alabama to bring their A game this week.

If this happens, the Orange Bowl is likely tOSU vs. ACC

Jaybee uses "we" when talking about Tennessee unless they suck, which then he uses "we" regarding NC State assuming they are good. If both suck at the same time, he claims no team. Kind of like most Walmart UNC fans that are bandwagon Laker, Cowboy, or Yankee fans as well.

seeing notre dame creep up into the champs sports bowl in a projection or two. could be a fun gator bowl redux, but playing a big east team in orlando...eww. orange bowl against tosu would be the definition of epic, but i really can't believe (if things hold) the sugar bowl would pass on an ohio state/lsu match-up. i still want to see stanford in the orange bowl. also, new years in atlanta against a mississippi st. type team would be pretty epic as well.

Each School gets set aside an allotment the rest is on sale to anybody.

I got my tickets back in March because I love college football I live in Charlotte, why not. So now that State has a chance to play I am even more stoked. I have tickets on the 45 about 10 rows up.

The Sugar bowl won't be able to pick both tOSU & LSU as at-large picks. And Stanford isn't going to the Orange Bowl. They be lucky to get the Rose Bowl, if Auburn loses. You're nuts if you think Stanford would be picked before tOSU.

If Auburn goes to the championship game, they will pick LSU first, then the Orange Bowl will pick tOSU.

If Auburn loses a game, the Sugar bowl will pick tOSU and will have to take Auburn/USC. The Orange Bowl will take LSU/TCU/Auburn. (Stanford to the Rose).
