It pains me whenever the university, or any group for that matter, makes the "informed" decision that no speech is an acceptable way to solve speech that is deemed offensive.

Everyone at the school is a goddamned adult, not a bunch of preschoolers who need to be sheltered from "bad speech."

As adults, they should be free to naturally react to bullshit written in the tunnel with the most effective means: more speech. Letting no one in the tunnel, or clamping down on what people can and can't write in there is never going to be an effective answer. Just let the campus community respond by painting over it with their own messages, organizing rallies, etc, etc.

Doing shit like campus police blockades and patrols to restrict people from expressing their own views, however offensive they are, is only going to make those individuals want to paint them up more when they do get the chance. If their ignorant messages got painted over by other students immediately every time they put them up so that no one really got the chance to see them, I guarantee they'd grow tired of wasting their time in a futile effort.
