I have asked this in the other 2 loko threads, and gotten no real response. I know you can find cases sometimes in gas stations, but whenever I see them, they aren't the flavors I want. I want another case of lemonade (yup, already bought 1) and to get a case of the lemon lime

It's not going anywhere, the beverage maker just stated they will be removing the caffeine and potentially making the container resealable so you don't have to drink it at once.

if i were the manufacturer i'd just attach a small bottle of the caffeine part, like a combo pack. have the consumer add it themselves. or people could just go back to drinking red bull with their liquor

I believe the overreaction to the Four Loko craze is class-based. When I first discovered that people regularly drank Four Loko and drinks like it, I was not concerned about their health or the effects of caffeine with alcohol, but I was disturbed that they would openly and proudly drink what I considered a beverage for the most desperate of our nation's drunks.

There has always been a certain portion of kids who delve into the world of low-end malt beverages and fortified wines. What is so offensive about Four Loko is that it appeals to a much broader range of kids--even the normies! Parents cannot handle the notion of their children giving into the allure of a beverage that 40-year-old "bums" drink on the street. It's embarrassing to them.

It's not the caffeine. It's not the booze. It's low class stigma.

So does the ban still stand in the states that have already banned it? Because I'm sure the people who wanted it banned still do, because it appeals to children and blah blah, but now their "it's not safe" argument is invalidated (even more).

Handee Hugo stores sell cases at 23.99. I can also get you cases if need be. It will be coming out of the market by early next week as we wait for the non caffinated version to be formulated.

Mentioned the story to my officemate and he said with FDA banning caffeinated alcoholic drinks, bars would no longer be able to sell Jaegar bombs or Red bull Vodka drinks. Hell that goes into banning soda + liquor drinks. Think that's correct?

Even if they were banned, bars could easily get around that by saying you have to purchase a shot and a cola separately (or whatever) and (after someone has a bitch fit about that) posting some kind of mandated warning sign about the dangers of mixing the two.

He also mentioned a bar he had gone to in SC where they had banned Jaegar bombs and Redbull Vodka, saying the caffeinated drinks had caused too many bar fights. I was going to say it was probably the douchebags ordering Jaegar bombs to begin with but decided not to, since he was trying to order one
