Its unforunate that brier creek is like that. I'm glad they revamped the south hills area making it a little more upper class.

I find it amusing that Brier Creek shopping strip mall is located next to quite a few upscale neighborhoods. Aren't the businesses there failing? Thought a few places already closed up shop

A lot of the places that have closed are chains that have been going under nationwide. Not much Brier Creek can do about that.

The one that pops into my head right away is the Uno that closed down.

Noodles & Co. just opened this past weekend

I live right near Brier Creek. I haven't noticed a lot of closings in Brier Creek.

I like to imagine a couple pimply faced 16 year old Geek Squad members driving their Tercel into some dead end neighborhood in Durham with 30 thugs chillin out on the block

Something's been happening to shopping centers in general.

Pleasant Valley, for instance, has always been kinda empty/crappy (especially since the movie theater shut down years ago). I hang out there a lot cause I like the emptiness. And for the first time ever, I saw a security guard on foot patrol there, making his rounds all serious-like in broad daylight. And then a few minutes later I saw a group of about eight kids in oversized white T's come walking through the parking lot. It was weird...I mean, it appears that they actually stepped up security over some children...

Naw, that security company has always been there. The difference is I guess they finally hired someone who doesn't make a habit of sleeping in his car during his shift. That's what the guy who was the guard did back when I worked in Pleasant Valley
