I'm an only child, girlfriend has one brother. He already has two young kids, but unless he has some more (possible as he and their mother split up and he's only 28) children of mine wouldn't have any cousins close in age. I have thought about that and it is unfortunate but that's just the way it goes.

My Mom was really close to her late brother though, and we still see his family a couple of times a year, so I've always been close to the cousins on that side--4 boys, all within 10 years of each other. So my children will know their second cousins (or would those be cousins once removed?) well. My Dad's family isn't particularly close so although I have two aunts and 4 cousins on that side, I haven't seen any of them since 2003. I'm the youngest by 8 or so years though of that group of cousins, as Dad is younger than his sisters--the oldest is 42 or 43 now.

Eh, even if they did that wouldn't mean shit. There were two cousins my age growing up but that whole side of the family is batshit crazy so my parents didn't want me hanging out with them anyway lol.

I never really knew any aunts/uncles/cousins growing up.

I'm not close relationship-wise or geographically to any of my three siblings, so if I did have kids, they probably wouldn't be close to their aunts/uncles/cousins either unless they had paternal ones.
