Being Indian and having eaten plenty of sweets, I can confirm that they are tremendous.
Also, China grass...how I miss thee. 11/30/2010 11:20:09 PM |

^ No, it doesn't. It is an Arab and Mediterranean sweet.

Quote : | " My mom used to add different food colors (red, blue, green, orange, etc) and it used to look nice... one of the neatest ideas ever was pouring the hot cooked mixture into empty egg shells (make a small hole on the narrow end and force the egg out). When they were set, she would crack the egg shells and we would have "eggs of colored milk jelly"!" |
That sounds really cool but also really time consuming to make lol.12/1/2010 9:52:35 AM |

Just made some "China grass" (agar agar with milk and sugar) after a 10 year gap!
Once it settles and cools in the fridge, I will cut it into cubes (or diamonds). Nostalgia FTW! 12/29/2010 6:35:44 PM |

this may not be an Indian dessert but is Asian in origin-I LOVE red bean ice cream. I am not a big fan of ice cream in general but this was so delicious. 12/29/2010 7:00:06 PM |

Red beans (adzuki beans) are used in a lot of Chinese and East Asian desserts. I have had 2 different kinds, and they were amazing.
I would love to try the ice cream... sounds amazing. 12/29/2010 7:27:19 PM |

I hate indian desserts, but I'm a chocolate fan and not a fan of sweets. I love plenty of other indian dishes, so I just go back for seconds if I'm at an indian buffet. My favorite is Chefs of India at the corner of Maynard and Chatham. 12/29/2010 9:08:21 PM |
