i hate talking on the phone, always have. i like texting & email bc i don't have to talk & can respond when i feel like it.

i used to have a huge attachment to books, but i asked for a kindle last xmas bc digital books are cheaper. i missed having paper at first but i'm over it now. i LOVE my kindle. i'm running & never looking back.

i'd love to stay at home & raise kids (old school)... but i'm the breadwinner (new school) & we can't afford it.

GoldenGirl would win. Her martial arts skills would trump Diva's street boxing background.

Oh thought about another one.

I like hand writing all of my notes. I never was one for bring your laptop to class, i tried it a couple of times but writing notes out def. helped things sink in. I never had a prob with my handwriting being illegible.

I love kids and want my own one day, I also think its better if you can financially do it for one parent to stay home. Raising kids is a full time job. Also the kids can get more nourishment by having one parent home.
"

You still haven't addressed why you think it's better for the woman to stay at home with the kids rather than the man. I don't criticize you for wanting to stay at home with kids, but I suspect you feel that way just because you'd rather do that than work full time.

Ideally both partners in a marriage would be able to get whatever they want out of life, but I don't think I'd ever be with anyone who refused to consider a career of their own if it would make a notable contribution to the family. Sometimes Most of the time "needs" have to trump "wants".

I currently write out all my notes, but thats only due to teachers not allowing laptops in my class. otherwise i'd prefer to type them up to have them neat and where i can reorganize them as needed

I'm old school in that I like to have gentlemen callers visit my parlor for tea and strumpets.

I like texting more because sometimes you don't need the hassle of a full on conversation to just get the point across, or the info to the person.

So far I'm still into real books, and I have so many... a kindle might be nice in the future though.

I want a job so badly and being unemployed and dependent on a man sucks. Raising a kid would be different but I think if down the road I have a baby I'd only like to spend the first two years at home then do half days with day care.... I think I'd go mad with boredom though. For me, I wasn't put on this earth just to raise kids, keep a house, and have my man work himself to death.

If I ever get to the point where I could support both of us, I wouldn't mind having a housewife. When my GF was unemployed for 6 months, I kinda had one. I can't tell you how nice it is to come home to a clean house and dinner on the table.

If I was a housewife, I would feel obligated to go above and beyond in the bedroom in order to prove my worth to the breadwinner in our family.

When I had texting it was nice to be able to message many people at once.
I hated the back and forth though.
Say you text "Boat is leaving at noon" to five people. Half of them respond with "Do you want me to bring something" or "can you pick me up" or "got room for one more" or whatever. What seemed like the most simple statement or "Yes/No" question turns into a texting conversation that drags on for 20 minutes. It's just easier to call someone up, tell them the deal, and be done in 90 seconds or less IMO.

^ ya i like texts that are like here is the address. but its the whole back and forth that gets annoying. it is easier getting the pt. across in a few secs.

and I dunno about everyone else but i spend a lot of time cleaning, maybe too much, clean every weekend and throughout the week, laundry every week, sheets every week. etc. and that's only for me i can't imagine how my mom every did it.

I am def old school all the way.

I think a woman that is married should stay at home with the children and keep up the household while the man works. I do text but I prefer phone calls and I love when guys show old fashioned chivalry like opening the car door for me first. That's rare nowadays, unfortunately.

I prefer texting, but only because I am extremely awkward on the phone. I really get anxious on the phone (especially to people that don't already know of my awkward tendencies.)

I prefer sending hand written cards than the ever-more-common standardized family cards. (ie: "Happy Holidays from the Johnsons!" with nothing else written in it.)

I also really like sending just a random, hand-written letter. It really takes much more thought than a poke or wall post on facebook.

I will never be a stay-at-home mom or just have raising the kids as my job. Ever. Even if I broke both of my legs, I would work from home.

I would also like to mention that just because a parent stays home doesn't mean they're going to provide a nurturing environment for their child...

I never knew my parents to be without a job (all of them: mom, dad, stepdad) and when my mom was a single mother she actually had two full-time jobs. Still made time for my sister and I, too. Probably never got any sleep though...

As for cooking and all that jazz, my marriage agreement will be that I cook (because I like to, and he doesn't) and Eric will do the yard work (because he likes to, and I don't). Problem solved!

I understand that. I get severe phone anxiety. Screen all my calls.

My ex-boyfriend did this and I thought it was cute for about a week. But when it is freezing outside and both my arms work, I'd rather him just get in the car and turn it on.

i like texting much better than calling

and if i have kids, i'd love if someone else (ie hubby) drove them around everywhere in the mini van, did all the laundry and housework, etc while i worked my dream job

i guess i'm new school

but i do like real books better than kindle ones. but that is probably just because i don't have a kindle.

i mean, i like guys opening doors for me, buying me drinks, paying for dates, etc...but i don't mind switching off who pays for things.

i'd honestly rather die than be a stay at home wife/mom. unless i also got a maid to do all the housework. and if i had like 9 committees to chair and like 15 places to volunteer. otherwise i might commit suicide.

my college nickname was "the beartrap"

then it was "the batmobile"

now it's "the bat cave"

a year from now, "the marianna trench"

ah, how I yearn for the days of youth
