I disagree with OP, the 440 interchange has 0 stoplights and in my opinion is excellent!

It is free flow at all times with no stopping.

Shittiest intersection ever is western and Avent ferry, needs a pedestrian bridge or tunnel and ban motherfuckers from crossing by foot.

For page 2 (nobody reads the last post, etc., etc.):

I never personally cared, seeing as I'm not retarded, but so many people used to hate the rotary in the town next to me when I lived in Massachusetts.

As for Western/Avent Ferry, it is mind boggling why NC State hasn't put in a pedestrian bridge/tunnel in yet, given how much more dangerous it is to cross that intersection than basically any other in Raleigh.

Holy shit at battleground and lawndale, greensboro nc. lol Every time I go to the Lambo dealership and go that route, it easily takes me 5 mins to figure that shit out to make a u-turn and end up driving like an extra 4 miles. And I had a gps...

I saw some lady go the wrong way at 4pm on a Friday. That caused quite a bit of confusion and delays. I was surprised that no one crashed the whole time I was watching. Would have been a bad head on collision since she was driving a pos 90's corolla vs. a dodge ram crew cab, which was going at least 50.

That intersection in MA looks interesting and if I was rolling through there at night and it has no guided lines on the road, I would easily get confused if I didn't have a gps to help guide me.

Shit a lot of the places in Tokyo had pedestrian walk paths over busy roads, it was really cool cause they were like crazy networks that easily spanned multiple blocks and actually connected buildings' 2nd level together.

most of the intersections where i have problems are only due to the fact people are idiots and unable to read signs or the lines on the road

if you idiots can't figure out a simple traffic circle (Hillsborough street) then just stay home.

If that were true traffic wouldn't be god awful on the front side of Crabtree while the backside is a ghost town. It's pretty amazing how few people use that back area of Crabtree but it just means less traffic for those of us who do use it

1) Seven Corners in Falls Church
2) There is a dumb-ass roundabout in Asheville with bushes planted on either side of the entering roadways so that you have to stop, creep forward and then check the roundabout for clearance before entering. As is common in Asheville, the bush defeats the whole point.

Tell that to the idiots who frequent the traffic circle, but I don't think it's that difficult to figure out. It's also not a real full 2 lane circle either...

I LOVE THESE. now when are they gonna put these on Gorman turning onto I-40 and that road that leads to trailwood? those red arrows piss me the fuck off, there is absolutely no reason they should be red arrows.

All lights should have those fucking weight things. I hate intersections that have them but they only work like from 9pm to 8am or so... With about 45 minutes of coding you could figure out a scheme that would work in just about every traffic density for your average 2 road intersection with independent turn lanes.

though i understand why they do it, the light at rivergate parkway after you turn left onto 49 from 160 south near that sledge intersection reallly pisses me off, i wanna accelerate up to like 45 coming out of the turn, but that light is guaranteed to turn red at all times not between like 9PM-5AM

battlefield/lawndale is turrible, just turrible.... a lot of the roads around downtown greensboro have the shittiest storm drains, essintially potholes with a opening on one side... blew out a brand new tire one one... and fucked up the second bad enough to have to get it replaced....

haha i don't mind slow drivers- you just start going at an intersection like 3 seconds after the light turns, and you have the acceleration of a tortoise. I wouldn't be surprised if you got pulled over some day under the suspicion of drugs lol.

Old Wake Forest Road

used to be 4 lanes, then they made it 6 lanes, but they didn't widen the road--they just painted more lines.

Lawndale/Battleground in Greensboro
The entire downtown loop in Durham
The 54/751/Garrett intersection in Durham
Crossroads' interface with Walnut and the interstate, plus the stupid Walnut/Buck Jones off-ramp from US 1 South--the whole area is a clusterfuck
Business 40 through downtown Winston-Salem and its ass-backwards on-ramps before off-ramps setup(I hate when you have to wade through merging traffic to exit!)

The flyovers at the Mixing Bowl in Northern Virginia (I-495/the beltline, I-95, and I-395) were initially planned with heating coils until they were cut out of the project budget. First winter storm after it was open they iced up and caused a 6-8 hour backup.
