Sorry this irks you so much and that you're so bored that you feel the need to register this.

There was a restaurant in Florida called Village Inn, but it was like a Denny's, only they also served some kick-ass pies. I really wish they had them up here.

Pizzamerica and Gumby's are both really bad

i tried some of the pasta at Rudino's once with McDanger and it was pretty turrble.

their pizza is great, though.

as far as chain pizza goes, little caesar's isn't bad, but i like papa john's (don't hate).

I actually had one of the "new" dominoes pizzas the other day...definitely better than what it used to be, but that's not really saying much I suppose...I try to avoid chains altogether, would rather pay a few bucks more for a good independant pizza

PizzAmerica is probably the worst in Raleigh. I think the new Dominos pizza tastes pretty good. Gumby's pizza has always been relatively bad, but when you're high or drunk, it's a perfectly desirable meal.

i realize this is to mock the pizza snobs in here, but it's true...there's not a pizza i've had in all of the united states i've visited that is even half as good as the "worst" pizza i had in italy

that said, i'll eat cici's and enjoy it...i'm not a snob, but i'm certainly capable of appreciating quality (or lack thereof)

^^All you had to do was consult a Zagat's guide to get a decent answer. Sbarro's in Times Square is pretty decent but not even close to the best in the city.

again, that is a matter of opinion... I'm not trying to say ny pizza isn't good... I'm just saying you don't have to be from ny to make good pizza (and I know plenty of people who prefer Chicago or Cali style pizza over NY- I like it all)

How the fuck can anyone say that Papa John's has good delivery? Their sauce is way too sweet, it ruins the pizza. And yes, I've eaten plenty of Pizza in NY (and Italy and Chicago).

Whats the word on Mega Bite? I was thinking about ordering from them...

and for the delivery haters, whats wrong with:

Pizza hut -
Dominos -

It appears the problem(s) with Papa Johns is obvious.

I actually don't mind PJ's sweet sauce... How they cook the pizza is what bothers me (and the toppings sometimes)

Megabite- it is like cici's... good for the price, but it isn't my first choice

Pizza Hut- my big problem is that they spray grease on the pizza... other than that, I don't consider it anything special (not great, not terrible)

Dominos- since they started redoing their pizzas, I like them. I think the crust is a vast improvement, as is their sauce (cheese and toppings are still average)

Mega Bite is terrible, at least it was a couple years ago when I tried it.

Pizza Hut is good if you prefer a thicker crust, IMO they have the best delivery pan pizza
Domino's is great if you like garlic, if you are not a big garlic fan there isn't anything special

Are you talking about how it always seems to be soggy and undercooked with no crispiness to any part of the crust at all?

I have no clue how Village Inn stayed in business as long as it did. There were never any cars in the parking lot, and the one time a group of co-workers and I got adventurous and decided to try it, it was closed for no apparent reason. (This was probably in 2003 or so, before it closed down for good).

I will tender my vote for school lunch pizza. Plastic cheese, bland and oversweet sauce, and a disconcertingly floppy crust.

Fiesta/Mexi-pizza is excluded from the above criticism.

Domino's is good to me. Papa John's is better, but I always go light sauce, so I get that part. Haven't had Pizza Hut in a long time, but I think stuffed crust used to be good? CiCi's isn't very good obviously, but when you're really hungry and only have $5 it gets the job done. I've never been to PizzAmerica when it wasn't 2AM and I was drunk, but I always thought it was decent.. I probably eat too much pizza though, so when I get something different it's good just because it's a different place and it's interesting at least. I can't really remember having "bad" pizza though. It's really hard to make it bad

that and the cheese is never fully melted... I think 1 time I got a pizza there that was cooked properly since they moved to the other side of campus. It looks like a goat cheese pizza because it is so chunky and crumbly and not fully melted. That is an instant pizza turnoff

They can't really "undercook" a pizza. My guess is you get way too much shit on your pizza, possibly veggies, because those hold moisture and don't let the cheese get cooked right. You can get it "well done" though

i've been impressed with every rudino restaurant I've been too

owner is a cool dude too. I was at saucer one day when they had a pool table in the back. Anyway, me and eclipseboy97 were playing pool, and he and his friend walk up and ask if they could play with us. He bought us all our beers, paid for the pool, and even offered us jobs (my friend was a manager at another restaurant at the time, and I was looking for work). haha and tried to set us up with his friends daughters

^I usually only get 1 or 2 toppings... they just try to push it through. And yea it is possible to do. I have gotten doughy pizza from other places too (usually when I order during a busy time). I've even asked for "extra done" on the pizza and PJ's never got it done for me (again, this in the new location... they weren't bad about that when they were on hillsborough)

You can definitely undercook a pizza, the crust remains doughy

And I don't usually get a lot of stuff on my pizza, but I've never had a soggy supreme from anywhere else so its only Papa John's
