Brain eating amoeba?
WTF
You kearn about amoeba in middle school and they are these cute little critters, just minding their own business floating around, and consuming smaller critters through phagocytosis.
And now they tell us they can eat brains.
FUCK THIS SHIT, I'M OUTTA HERE.
BTW, I use one of the squeeze bottle (neilmed), and I too, use tap water. But this is desalinated sea water. Does the sea have amoeba or other BRAIN-EATING microscopic protozoans? Anyway, desalination (by boiling) should kill everything, right? Of course, if the pipes harbor something nasty, that's another issue.
So am I OK, or should I switch to drinking water as well? 12/20/2011 6:34:42 AM

From my brief research yesterday, it sounds like they are not completely certain it doesn't exist in sea water. You better believe I boiled a shit ton of water last night. 12/20/2011 10:56:55 AM

Yeah, I would use distilled or boiled water, just to be on the safe side. The levels in tap, regardless if it is sea water or not, aren't enough to effect whether or not you should drink it, but I wouldn't inject it straight up into my brain, not since there is an easy enough alternative. 12/20/2011 10:59:13 AM

I was looking at the directions last night and technically the manufacturer does tell you to use distilled, boiled, or filtered water. 12/20/2011 11:43:46 AM

fair enough, but how is water desalinated for public urban use? by boiling, right? so my tap water is already pre-boiled. as i said, the pipes are another issue, and just to be on the safe side, perhaps i should use drinking water. but the desalinated tap water itself should be clean, disregarding what it accumulates from the miles of pipes. 12/20/2011 1:37:28 PM

I don't know what a neti pot is, but the name alone makes me want to smack you for even purchasing a product named as such. 12/20/2011 1:49:12 PM

just tried this little device.... it was weird, but I've been breathing more clearly since using it on wednesday. seriously, I'm amazed that a simple saline wash can make such a difference!
so how often do you people do this, if at all? 4/20/2012 9:56:40 PM

^^ just make sure you use distilled water or boil it.
also putting it in the microwave for about 15 seconds will make the room temp distilled water closer to body temp and more comfortable.
I'm always amazed at how much snot is up there.
I have no usage schedule, jus use it when I need it
