Last year I pulled 29 books (around 9600 pages) and 44 audiobooks.

So far this year I'm still chugging through A Game of Thrones. I have a few on the list that might take a long time to slog through.

1 Douglas Adams - The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul
2 George Orwell - 1984
3 Peter L. Callero - The Myth of Individualism: How Social Forces Shape Our Lives

^ I just started the 2nd Game of Thrones book, the series is so good but it takes me forever to get through them.

it's a pretty compelling series...very tv mini-series'ish...

which i guess makes sense since the first 2 books were a tv mini-series in 1979

^I inspired you. It is pretty long and a little plodding at times, but it is an interesting read. I'm approximately halfway through.

I read way too much. So far this year....

1) Real Murders by Charlaine Harris
2) A Bone to Pick by Charlaine Harris
3) Thee Bedrooms, One Corpse by Charlaine Harris
4) The Julius House by Charlaine Harris
5) Dead over Heals by Charlaine Harris
6) A Fool and His Honey by Charlaine Harris
7) Last Scene Alive by Charlaine Harris

Those are all a series by the same author that writes the Sookie Stackhouse series.

8) Strange Bedpersons by Jennifer Cruise
9) Room by Emma Donoghue
10) The Confession by John Grisham
11) Sizzling Sixteen (Stephaine Plum Series) by Janet Evanovich
12) Cross Fire by James Patterson

Room was a great book. The rest are just pretty easy reads/fun reads. I haven't read much that is challenging yet this year.

Anyone have recommendations for good suspense/thriller novels? I have a tendency to find an author I like and read everything by them.

Wasn't quite as blown away with that as everyone said I would be. Very entertaining, very original, but I still found myself bored at times. I think the main problem is that there's no defined plotline or story arc to the novel. There's no single bad guy or single quest that must be undertaken. It's just the story of two guys over the course of many years, how their magic shapes England, and .... well, that's really about it.

the last book and it really sucks that the series ends here instead of going through the first 200 years of the country as originally planned...i could read about this family for ages...

however, before i start on another series or any of the other 100+ books i've borrowed from my dad to read, i think i'm going to go back to the library to check out of couple of books...

there is just something about have a library book that i like
